i think these are one of the most underrated pickups ever. (at least here in the philippines). ive seen so many  people use so many different guitars on stage but i could still count the few who use p90s. ive recently begun to fall in love with tone p90s make. i remember a few years ago, sir Joric (Deltaslim) told me that its hard to f--- up a p90 tone. i am going to order some humbucker sized p90s soon to drop into my SG.

its sad that when i go to stores, minsan lang ako nakakakita ng p90 loaded guitar.

any p90 lovers out there?

some clips:

and my favorite recorded modern tone:

Dude, just would like to say given my experience with pickups and P90s... the commitment to P90s starts with getting a guitar with a P90 route.  No more no less.  Aside from the physical area for string vibration and faithfullness to design, P90s have different picking area specially if you two of them and more so if you have three of them on one guitar like I do.

Currently the best P90 pickups that I have tried in my life in ranking with one being the highest:

1) Kinman P90s
2) Stephens Designs
3) Vintage 50s Gibson P90s
4) Gibson P90s
5) Duncan P90s Antiquities
6) Lollar P90s
7) PRS SE P90s (the worst)

I've wanted a Reverend Jetstream 390 ever since I heard Justin Vernon of Bon Iver use it. Plus, it kinda reminds me of a jazzmaster which I have wanted for a long time as well

yep! tama ka sir, only a few nga lang talaga ang gumagamit ng P90's

that was my previous pickup for my epiphone SG and it has awesome tone and crunchy chug-chug metal sounds that will fit both for clean and distorted playing.  8-)

meron bro, mas malakas pa siya compared to normal single coils. still usable though even at high gain. unless you use active P90's

^^
that statement cleared my doubts.. haha..

ang impression kasi sa akin minsan ng P90s ay isang genre-specific na pickup.. tipong blues, country, surf.. mga ganun.. pang crispy clean to light and crunchy OD..

Yup sir Chino. One of my gripes sa Soap Bar ko. Though it can easily be remedied by turning down the volume or by setting the pickup selector in the middle position.

I'm dreaming of my first P90 guitar in the shape of a Jazzmaster with a Single P90 (or P94 if it still counts as a P90) on the bridge position. :) or an LP Jr. Nails one of my dream tones if coupled with a Boogie or Soldano. :) Dayummmmmm...
