Paano magkakaroon ng "dead sounding"? Eh, wala namang tunog ang mga patay.

Hi Sir Alex!

I totally agree about the quality thing. I had an an S-series just like yours, but probably a lower model. S470 MIJ, Mahogany body. It sounded great even if it was stock and it played like a dream. I tried other MIJ RG's that came out later and I was really disappointed. However, I keep my RG7420 MIJ 7-string because it sounded so amazing after a pickup change. I would like to try your good sounding guitars sometime though. It may change my opinion about my currently owned guitars.

However, I think that companies these days try to cope up with the economy too (sometimes it's not the best thing to do but they have to, to survive in the tough market) so they make lower end models that people can afford. Can you imagine if RJ guitars never existed? The Philippine music scene would never have boomed like it did because nobody would be able to learn how to play as fast. So it depends on what their target market is. They still probably cost cut but at least they're not totally unusable. So I guess that they we should compare your good sounding guitars to the ones at par in price and make. Maybe your call would be to the high end ones initially.

Let me know if we could tone party sometime.
Rob  :-)

Ewan ko ah. I've seen PG pick random Ibbys off the wall and make it sound like $666,666 guitars.

some people will never hear or feel what a good sounding or excellent playing guitar is .. or would just choose not to for whatever reason ;)
babalik lang tayo sa its in the fingers. yadda yadda. edi sana lahat tayo nag rj na lang.
im sure a player with a good sounding/awesome playing guitar would enjoy making music and most probably sound better than him playing a crappy guitar.

anyway, my first ibby was an rga oh how i love that. but i just wish it sounded killer ;)

Sir Firemodel, can you please post a demo of you playing a dead sounding Ibanez?

Paul Gilbert plays Ibanez guitars. Are they dead sounding to you?

I just want to know what dead sounding means. Really.

Thanks.  :-)

they will never hear nor ever feel the difference unless they got to try it for themselves.. physically testing it through and amp and not just looking at specs..

tone skills + gear skills are two different things..some accept it, some dont, some are left or right wing in that aspect

true you have to be there with him to play and exchange insights..

anyway all points and insights on this thread considered, all things will remain the same, steve vai will still play his jems, andy timmons will still play his AT models., Satch with his JS's and Herman Ri with his egen..to me it would be best to approach the Ibanez Rep or even Herman Ri and share your points, bring your Suhr's, Tom Andersons, Schecter customshop USA's,(FMIC)Jackson custom shop..etc and show what is the current line(of 1899USD - 2+Kusd) lacking

Every company has a R&D group and they look at their stability in sales, current market trends etc and use that as factors to either adapt or remain as is, its not a surprise that they fair more on the mid and lower priced guitars and they keep going at it.. the only way there will be change is major instability in their sales..then that catches their attention..other than that...its' supply and demand..keep buying and they keep selling..

Wrong racial slur, Bryan. That's a Japanese accent you're mimicking. Chinese are said to pronounce "r" as "l". Not the other way around.
