:-)  firemodel is legit when it comes to gear and gear knowledge.  he has owned a lot between the worst to the best sounding gear.

on topic - i think it's best to compare elegee custom pickups versus max rufo custom pickups.  para both locally-made.  :-)

O sige andun na ako. If you have mentioned standard brand names like Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio or Mightymite, baka suportahan pa kita. Knowing from your posts, your only standards of good tone are boutique products which hindi nga namin kaya bilhin. We have a low chance of trying them out let alone own one.

Fender pickups? A friend of mine bought a fat '60s pickups for strat and the sound was amazing! See the point here? Hindi ka nasasatisfy sa standard products e. Kaya pag naglagay ka ng opinion or ratings, mahirap paniwalaan kasi it is compared against a boutique brand. Kaya nga we are comparing it first to standard brands.

I don't like the Fender fat 60s.  They are muddy and have harsh highs. That remains to be heard.

Ok lang naman if you cannot afford the expensive gear that sounds great pero huwag naman i-angat ang mga panget as equal to the good sounding ones ---  I am not yet saying that Mang Max pickups are panget.

nagpadala ba si kinman sayo? hindi ka naman siguro famous rockstar or gear blogger like gearmandude para padalahan, i mean what would be the benefits of giving you free stuff? plus your bias against affordable gear makes your objectivity questionable. you judge by the materials a certain gear is made up of, not the end result, so it would just be an exercise in futility.

Yes you are not saying it but you are definitely insinuating it. You are contradicting yourself with your posts.

BTW, I'm not part of the Max Rufo fans club.. well, at least not yet. Is there such a thing? Hmm... that got me curious.

unang una sir alex I didnt compare mang max pups sa ibang high end pups. i just described the sound it produced during my trial. Im just trying to promote mang max and his new pickups. katulad nga sinabe ko pwedeng magustuhan ko yung pups at di magustuhan ng marami dito sa pm kaya nga i stated din na mas maganda matry niyo personally.

I respectfully agree with you and your objectives AND at the same time beyond promotion, the product has to deliver versus the best out there unless you are trying to produce a mediocre pickup thats cheap.  And thats why on my part I also asked what pickups you have previously owned to establish a baseline.  Its easy for anybody to review but its really hard to determine if the reviewer has good ears.

Hindi siya nagpapadala, he invites me to test his prototype.  I don't blog gear -- I buy them.  I don't care for free stuff because 99% of free stuff sound bad.  Plus  your bias against more expensive gear makes your objectivity questionable too.  I judge gear based on whether the person behind the gear has the EARS and EXPOSURE.  And a lot of times what goes in does affect the end result.

Mga ibang so called COMPETENT guitarists diyan walang tenga...

Ang important question ay BUMILI KA NA BA NG SET BASED ON THESE COMPETENT GUITARISTS?

Let's just skip the sideshow, and focus na lang sa actual reviews ng mag naka-testing.

I think these are the important pointers na dapat abangan and pag-usapan
• kelan ba ito ire-release for public?
• how much?
• gagawa ba si mang max ng Humbuckers? pede ba coil-split if a mang max will make humbuckies?
• magiging available ba in different flavors and voicings?

After maging available for public, then pede na siguro mag-compare.

can just ignore na lang, if we don't like the post of some people

Well I thought open minded kayo for review. I have exposure to good sounding equipment that they don't.

We're open minded sir, how about you?

I'm sorry I don't think you are trying to help Max at all..

Exposure to good sounding equipment? Very good!

No one will bother unless you can prove your competence sir to overcome the overwhelming bias you displayed.

I've mentioned names of great guitarists almost if not everyone respects. If you are of the same caliber, I will send you one asap. But first, proof muna, don't tire us further.

Dude, what happens if we reverse it?

Even the best pickups in the world will probably make bad music in the wrong hands?

Wait wait wait. Why is it anyone's obligation to send a set to firemodel55?

If he really wants to review the pups, why don't he go and get a set for himself. Bakit kelangan may mag deliver pa sa kanya?

Ohmygad, tama na yung "my gear smokes your gear". Parang 8 years old.

Di po ba dapat ang forum eh is to share each other's thoughts, opinions, suggestions about a particular thread subject?
parang ang nangyayari po eh nagiging war zone...which on my opinion is not good and not helping the community (GC).

No offense po sa lahat, but what I understand is, you cannot criticize something not unless you have personally tried it, you cannot throw your opinion to something that you have not laid your hands and ears to... knowing Mang Max, if you personally tried and tested his pickups and somehow you do not like the sound, then, he is more than welcome to accept your criticism, opinion or even violent reaction ....

We cannot compare a BMW with a Vios ,  but, at rush hour traffic in edsa , both will bring you from point A to point B just the same...

If we will talk about freedom of speech here, no problem with that, as long as it is within the topic, and we talk about something that will benefit us musicians...

just my five cents

peace

guys relax its just opinion from firemodels side dont take it too seriously..he hasnt even tested it yet..

this maybe a stretch but do you think max would lend his guitar with those pickup installed? and in firemodels side just test it AS IT IS and review it AS IT IS..then make another review of how it compares to other stuff out there..
