Nasubukan ko kanina yung custom guitar ni marklakandula sa lazer, sa my sm carpark through a vantage amp, e2 yung mga masasabi ko:

Good:
- maganda yung finish
- Maayos yung tunog ng pickups (both clean and distorted)
- nandun yung feel ng strat na neck (which i really love!!!)
- maganda yung design ng fixed bridge

Bad:
- Nabigatan ako, hehehe

hay... gusto ko tuloy magpacustom ng 24 fret na tele with bindings, maple fretboard, number inlays, H-S-H or H-H or S-S-H pickup config, 5-way switching and fixed bridge, kulay light pink or ube!!!

i created this thread because i want MAX RUFO's works to be recognized here, & if possible, the world over!

if u really are intersted about his guitars, why not go to his place directly.

i wasn't able to post pics because i haven't been to max'a place sine my last visit.

pics doesn't proof a guitars quality, u will see its physical condition but u may hear its sound when u get to play it, that's what guitars are for right? to be played & heard!

Could someone be kind enough to post a google earth map of the location of Mang Max's shop ... medyo hindi ko kse kabisado bandang north, sa south pa kse ako mangagaling ... malayo pa ba ito sa Monumento or MCU

astig talaga si mang max...hehe bait talaga niya saka masarap kausap,,,madami ka ding matututunan...papagawa ako sa kanya ng ESP eclipse na goth yong theme sa satruday...hehehe

mabuhay si mang max at sana ay matulungan pa natin siya at iba pang astig sa customization ng gitara!!!

hmmmm....

magkano kaya paggawa ng 27-fret neck with jumbo frets and maple fretboard? with installation of hardware (fixed bridge lang yung wrap-around) and electronics (1 single spaced humbucker sa neck and 1 humbucker sa bridge)? meron kasi akong body dito, sayang naman kung mabubulok... huhuhu...

bluenote does have a point about the pics (i went through the whole thread and it wasn't "porno" enough, know what i mean

) a big part of the excitement in having a custom axe made is in the documentation, from wood to guitar. Heck, if i knew which tree the wood was taken from, i would have shot that too!

I would love to see more of Max Rufo's work. Just shrug off Bluenote's comment about your thread being nonsense to avoid a war, but to expound on his point in a more subtle manner....

... no one brags about a hot chick they met better than one who has the pictures to prove it

all talk/text is one dimensional, and i'm clueless about the facts if all that is presented are superlatives. Imagine an FHM issue without pics? or to our world, a Guitar Player issue like a novel... still interesting, but not spectacular.

hi, had my first and only electric modded by Mang Max. super bait, his prices will really tempt you into having a custom made. hope a lot here will give him a shot...my knowledge on guitar craftmanship is next to nil, so i really can't give a useful comment on his work. all i know is there's a lot of potential in his tiny shop...

here's what i had done:

from the original stock Genesis Series (dunno what model, the highschool version of me molested the model number and paint off of the headstock)

to this:

had him strip off the paint, fill the trem cavity, paint the stripes to hide the new wood, change the humbuckers (just cheap generic korean w/c he bought), install new bridge and ferulles, install push/pull pot to switch humbuckers to series/parallel, install a humbucker pickup cover custom made by him (wala lang, thought it looked cool...i had him add this after we've locked down on the price, he put it in free), replace the rusted neck joint plate, and replace stock locking nut to bullalo nut.
