WIKI says ang regular sessionists ni rico blanco is ricci gurango (HYP/Mojofly) sa bass and robert dela cruz (queso and skychurch) on drums. i think cynthia alexander and nathan azarcon appeared in some songs in the yugto album as sessionists as well but am not that sure. for me he is a genius in his own right. i like his dynamics when he do solos sa keyboards. as a guitar player on the other hand, says another thing about him but equally impressive as well. meron yata say official statement sa "a million flames", this is his official multiply site. http://amillionflames.multiply.com/ |

...was a big big fan or Rico's live performances with Rivermaya after the Free album came out. He finally got out of Bamboo's shadow as the frontman, after Bamboo's departure from the band you could see Rico's uneasiness to step up onstage, hiding behind growls and akward stage antics.
I see that in him now... i guess he doesn't have the cushion of a huge catalogue of Rivermaya hits to fall back on now. Sayang, he was a really good entertainer nung Maya days... had some comedic anecdotes to share, ngayong medyo serious mode siya ngayon eh.
would love to see the old Rico again (performance wise)
...and what the heck is up with how high his guitar is now?! does not look good at all.

saw the new "your universe' vid and am not really sure what he is driving at...
the concept, a lot focusing on him singing alone...didnt quite get that
im sure he has his say about how the video would turn out
its really a serious, strip down, in your guts solo artist music video
he looks matured though

I asked him that after I turned off the camera for the DreddTV interview. He says that before, his guitars were slung lower because he thought it was "cool." Now he just wants to be comfortable and practical about it. Plus there aren't much people who rock out with that kind of guitar positioning. It looks awkward but nagpapakatotoo na lang siya. |

ang laki din yung risk na ginawa niya pero kayang kaya naman pala ni sir rico hehe ang galing!  may mga guitarist lang talaga na ganun hehe parang ako mataas din ako magsout ng gitara hehe mas comfortable nga naman siya at hindi nahihirapan yung kamay kasi para kang nagpplay ng nkaupo pa din dahil sa height nia hehe. ayaos sir rico! saludo kami sayo! more songs pa katulad nung yugto hehe para rakrakan tau ser! lumiyab ka!! |

Rico can swoon the romantics with "Your Universe" and make the punkilitos jump with "Yugto".
His sucess has proved that ultimately TALENT always shines,
Kahit ma-break pa yung mga pre-concieved notions ng mga tao about him and his image, on him being a solo artists and prejudicial innuendoes with his carrer decisions.
In the end, its the MUSIC that counts, everything else are just frills.
Congrats to Rico!
Napatunayan na nya na siya naman talaga ang heart and soul ng Rivermaya from then till now.
It's his show now. He can be himself. I can only imagine the freedom he feels now. Sarap.
Mabuhay ang mga songwriters!
