Hi guys :) need your inputs lang. My boss kasi is asking me to source out what's the best laptop replacement saamin. she has a 60k budget for work laptops and we have an option to choose if mac ang gagamitin namin or windows. I was thinking of getting an i7 na thinkpad eh pero some of my friends are opting for a macbookpro. wala naman masyadong technical work or video editing ang ginagwa ko I use it lang for reports, presentation and research
so far eto ang alam ko sa mac
-I know for a fact na Mac's are tough as hell and madali daw gamitin.
-ang ayaw ko lang eh for it's price bakit naka i5 lang siya at ang baba ng specs compared sa price group niya
-maganda yung clarity ng screen as in hehe
-lahat halos sa office Mac ang gamit
-I am not a mac user (I have used it not more than 5 times)
-upgradeable

question: 60k each of you, or 60k for all of you?

each hehe :) well sa SG dapat bibili kasi yung boss ko ay client sa apple mismo eh may employee discount kaso nagka problema kaya dito nalang kukuha sa pinas. so yan ang option ko Macbookpro na 13" or any equivalent nun basta same price range.

MacBookPro Paps. pinaka dependable. and you can always bootcamp naman if you need windows.
-

MBP FTW :-D

masasanay ka jan in the long run. baka pati personal laptop mo, gusto mo na Mac.
-
And walang problema yung company nyo with pirated software... unless.......
-
Dell XPS 13 or 15. If you are going to the MBP way, check mo muna ang info about the incoming mac os sierra. Medyo nagdadalawang isip ako ngayon to get new Apple PCs dahil ng paparating na bagong OS.

people from tipidpc sometimes sell them cheaper. was worried at first, but i got an iMac from some guy who forwarded me to an Apple reseller at Shangri-la. put me in his company's account, thats why it was a couple of thousands cheaper.

The cheapest one that I can get was for P61,741 from an apple reseller tapos si kimstore nasa P54,000 lang but I am worried about the warranty and hindi ko alam kung mag iisue ng O.R si kimstore at kung pweds ipangalan sa company
anyway nag source pa ako.

yung thinkpad work laptop ko died just two days ago, wala pang isang taon yun. yung office mate ko naman nasira yung charging port ng kanya, ayaw na magcharge.
sabi ng IT dept namin sirain daw yung mga bagong thinkpad at walang serviceable parts kaya eto i'm still waiting for a replacement laptop unfortunately thinkpad pa rin ang makukuha ko dahil IBM supplier namin.

Actually this is not the case anymore at parang baliktad pa kamo. Sa PC/laptop hindi ka pwede magdevelop ng applications for the App Store (and you need an Apple Developer account as well $$$). You can still code apps for Windows sa Mac, kelangan lang ng VM

depende sa language paps. C# .net programming and java programming haselan sa mac. yun nga, lagging naka VM or naka bootcamp hahaha

kahit ano basta 15 inch or 17 inch screen. Mahirap kung maliit ang screen.

Thinkpad.

I had the same dilemma before, when I bought an upgrade laptop for work/mobile music making.
first thing to consider, what is your priority? or what will use it mostly for?
second, what tasks/programs do you usually run on your pc/laptop? as they should be available in both platforms
third, coming from pc, using the mac would require a period of learning, are you willing to go for it?
fourth, what are your colleagues' experience with a mac?
last, what do you really want?
for me, although i like the idea of having a mac for my music making endeavors, my priority is what I will use the notebook for.
It would be ideal to have both pc for my work & mac for my music, but i don't have much dough to have both.
Also, since I do not have time to tinker with my previous windows programs to run on mac, i went for pc still.
i hope this helps
BR & God bless
