going back to the context, it doesn't matter if ang player mo is a china-made mp3/mp4 player or a $400 iPod Touch, basta ang mp3s eh nasa 320kbps bitrate, and you're using good QUALITY Head/Earphones, parehas lang yan.
on the other hand, kahit naka Zune ka pa, kung ang mp3s na pinapakinggan mo eh 64kbps bitrate lang, it will still suck.
mp3 players are only tools; mas "cool" ka lang if you own iPod Classics or Microsoft Zunes, kasi they look much more techie than their made-in-china counterparts, and because they can play videos (and ofcourse what you're investing in is quality of service in either warranty or repair, so they costs so much more)
