It's always nice to see a new take on a song that actually sounds good. So, my boss at Universal gave me this fairly new cd the other day called Big Band Remixed + Reinvented, and it's good. A lot of the remixes are fairly subtle and blend really well with the original tracks. Essentially, it's full of old Big Band/swing tracks by guys like Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw, that are redone by artists like DJ Spooky and KC Santana. My favorite track is by far Artie Shaw's "Nightmare;" I hadn't heard it a long time and it's great. Check out the site if you wanna hear a few of the tracks:
