I'm interested in this phone kasi it's not that expensive but it has the latest Android OS. any users here who can share some opinions regarding this unit before I purchase one? my current phone is a blackberry curve 8310 that has been with me for 2 years pero sira na yung trackball niya. I want to try a touch screen phone for the first time na hindi masyadong expensive pero will get the job done. I've been hearing good things about samsung phones especially the galaxy y so I need your reviews guys. thanks!

ayos naman bro.. i bought my new galaxy y last night.. its pretty simple.. pero first time ko kasi bumili ng phone, touch screen pa..hahaha. pang simpleng nokia lang kasi ako, di ako pihikan sa phone.. pero ok daw nga galaxy y..pang lalake pa itsura kaya bumili ako..ok naman.. naaasar lang ako kasi di ko alam kung pano magdownload (first time eh) hehe..

anyone na kaya maginstall ng Bible dito?? i want it!!

i have one nakuha ko sa trade last year ... ang ayaw ko lang sa kanya is 2 point of contact lang ang multi touch niya ang favorite ko naman na feature sa kanya is yung GPS- gamit na gamit yun sa kin pag nagtatravel kami

as for the apps android yan so download lang ng download kung ano kailangan mo

so far so good naman ang sgy..di rin kasi ako pihikan sa
phone..importante may pantawag/text ok na ko dun..
ok din naman cam nya, depende na lang siguro kung
pihikan ka sa pixels etc..sa games ok lang din wag lang maginstall
ng HD games kasi di kakayananin ng ram..sa sounds, di ko masyado
trip, di ganun kalakas speaker nya para sakin..hmm ano pa ba, multi touch din
naman sgy, pinch to zoom/double tap..sa battery, abutin ako ng about 1week
nakastandby lang sya, kapag ginamit ko thru text/call about 3 days..kapag kasali
internet about a day and half..pero depende lahat eto sa gumagamit..sakin kasi
di ako heavy user lalo na sa internet neto..over all basic android phone talaga eto,
budget friendly na din..

kung gusto nyo download ng free apps punta lang kayo sa market..i mean before kasi
android market tawag tapos ngayun naging google play na

thanks for the inputs guys. I tried one yesterday sa store and I really liked it and may color white pa (I love white phones

). the touch screen is very responsive and no lags. the keyboard is easy din to use hindi katulad sa iphone na kahit ano-ano na mapipindot mo sa keys. the camera is ok pero not really a big deal for me kung gaano kaganda ang camera niya. I'm definitely gonna buy one hopefully by next week and I'm freakin' excited.

haha. hindi naman pero yeah I'm very excited! It's going to be my first touch screen and android phone.

hopefully it will last long with me kasi my blackberry served me well.

i also bought my wife this phone. mas madalas ako ang gumagamit! hehehe 1st time ko makagamit din ng android phone. nung una kala ko pangit ang resolution ng display screen kasi ang default theme parang ang lalaki ng icons tpos parang pangit pixels ng screen, but nung tinry ko palitan ng downloaded themes parang iphone sa malayo hehehe.

just remember to turn off the following when not in use para battery saver. pag nakaon ang mga to, saglit lng battery nyo.

*turn off wireless connection
*turn off background data ( settings> accounts and sync>background data)
*turn off packed data (settings>mobile networks>packet data)

my wife has this phone, her main problems are:

call register - isang buong call register sya ng missed/dialled/received calls - its either isa lang pipiliin mo sa mga yan, or all.. you'll see what i mean.. cant explain enough

memory - if you like games, the memory of this phone is just not enough.. better end those task first..

overall, for the price, good phone.. di ko lang alam kung pwede iupgrade ung OS?

the duos is much more expensive though. it's priced at php8990 at the samsung center. I don't need a double sim anyway kasi isang sim lang ginagamit ko.

can you elaborate more on the call register?

well the memory doesn't really bother me that much kasi I don't really download a lot of apps. I will only use this phone mainly for texting, calling, and now for music since my ipod touch got stolen.

thanks for the explanation bro. well yeah I guess that will bother me a bit but not really a big deal so sanayan nalang siguro. my blackberry kasi I will know kung ano yung missed/dialed/received calls.

hey bro, I just bought one yesterday pero sorry wala akong gamit for video eh. hehehe! pero I really recommend this phone bro. I tried the galaxy y and galaxy mini. mas nagustohan ko ang galaxy y kasi mas marami yung features niya, lightweight pa, and mas updated yung OS niya (Android 2.3 Gingerbread). the touch screen is very smooth tapos walang lags, the camera is ok, battery life is good din kasi kagabi pa ako gumagamit sa wi-fi and hindi pa siya nalowbat. I highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants a smartphone with a limited budget.

I got the all white one and it looks sexy.

Overall OK siya simple lang, Kung hindi ka naman "PASOSYAL"

CONS:
- Mahirap mag text sa QWERTY, kaya mas magandang gamiting ung 3 x 4 mode.
- Minsan nagloloko yung "back", same review sa kakilala ko.

agree ako medyo mahirap magtext kasi maliit yung qwerty keypad niya but I'm getting used to it naman. I'm not really a tech-savvy guy who puts a lot of apps into his phone so ok na ako dito.
