matt chamberlain --- bagong idol!

napanood ko sya sa tori amos concert (sunny florida). i like the way he incorporates percussion in his kit, like bongos, a conga, etc.  parang dalawang tao yung tumutugtog :) very tasteful grooves and fills.

also check out forrest robinson, india arie's drummer. plays and sounds almost like matt

hey thanks! yeah he played a dw kit in that dvd.  i think he used to endorse ayotte too.  nainspire talaga ako sa tunog nya.  the overall feeling was: "i think i have found my new sound ..."  haha! as if!  but i'll start building skills leading in that direction :)

hmmm naalala ko tuloy yung tunog nung snare ni matt dun sa song ni tori na sleeps with butterflies. yun pa rin ang hindi ko makuhang tunog. fat, wet and somewhat dry ang hirap kunin, i wonder what snare he used on that song.

Listen to Smashing Pumpkins albums... (Kenny Aronoff sessioned for him when he went into Rehab)

He also played in Fiona Apple's album, "When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King..."

hanapin mo yung song "Fast as you Can". Galing nun!

hhaaaaaahhhhyyyy. yessss. yan ang trip kong tunog ngayon... the pork pie little squealer is a good sustitute for that sound, that tight, snappy, compressed wooden snare sound ...   sarap no?

Matt Chamberlain naging drummer din ng Pearl Jam, siya yung nag recommend kay Dave Abbruzzese as replacement niya, see the Alive Video yung black and white. siya drums dun astig yung palo niya.

eto si matt chamberlain toh with pearl jam


 
you'll notice (if you're a pearl jam fan) ibang iba dating nung song dahil kay matt chamberlain. notice the conventional grip  :-) , siya yung pumalit kay dave krusen after recording the Ten album.. pagkakaalala ko he(matt) left pearl jam kasi mag to tour ang pearl jam sa europe ayaw niya, mas ginusto niya dun sa SNL house band yata.

1. Matt Cameron - Pearl jam Demos, Temple of the Dog project
2. Dave Krusen - Ten
3. Matt Chamberlain -- wala lang live shows lang heheh saka yang promotional alive video

listen to Eddie Brickell and the New Bohemian's Ghost Of The Dog album.

there's even one article about him in Modern Drummer that he could've been the best drummer for Pearl Jam.  he left Pearl Jam after 5 months of replacing Dave Krusen to play drums for the the SNL band.

One of his trademarks are his fluid, snappy motion.  and of course, the cracking tones of his snare.

Heard about his band Critters Buggin'?

oi hinde ah ehehe Dave Abbruzzese parin ako for pearl jam ehehe siya yung pinaka naging swak yung style sa pearl jam... for pearl jam ah ehehe pero overall mas ok nga yung style ni Chamberlain yung overall style.. pero kung pearl jam lang pag uusapan ehehe Dave A. ako  :-D

Oi din...Modern Drummer ang nagsulat nun hindi ako.

Pero honestly, hindi natin malalaman yan kasi hindi naman nabigyan ng chance si Matt.

Pero, IMO, judging from the Alive vid...iba yun bite ng palo niya eh.  kakaiba yun pitik.
