Any advice or tip how to proceed to those places (Bras Basah, etc) from the airport (by bus, train, etc.) and where to exchange USD to Singapore $ for better exchange rates.

I plan to stop over for a few hours on my trip home this June.

From Changi Airport take the East-West MRT to City Hall (approx 30-40 minutes) then walk 2 blocks North along North Bridge road to get to Bras Basah Complex. Walk 3 blocks South along North Bridge road then turn right along Coleman Street to reach Peninsula/Excelsior on the left, just after Funan I.T. Mall.

I don't know any recommended money changers, but there are some booths at Peninsula Plaza as you walk towards Funan I.T. Mall.

blackwood guitars, bras basah road, and maraming options sa peninsula excelsior building... just go to City Hall mrt, then walking distance na lang...

+1 on Blackwood Guitars.

I got my Pedaltrain there which was on sale for a really good price - even cheaper than US prices. Great staff and gear. Just as GS said, Peninsula Shopping Complex and Bras Basah are the good places for gear. Happy hunting Romy!

+1 sa blackwood guitars same with saturn return dun ko nabili pedaltrain ko, may forumer pa ko na nameet dun nagwowork mababait, ok din sa ebenex though malayo..and syempre oks din sa basement ng peninsula

price ng pagkain sakto lang ang dami kasi,
sa mga drinks parang ang mahal haha,

let's say i'll buy an electric guitar there, pwede ko ba i-uwi iyon as my hand-carry?

Mahirap mag-uwi ng guitar as hand-carry kasi it will not fit the overhead stowage compartments. Check in sya dapat kaya dapat hard case ang gitara mo to avoid damage.

Food....mura lang food. I mean relatively speaking. nakaka-kain ako ng full meal duon for 3.50 to 5 SgD la nga lang drinks. Saka wag ka lang maghanap ng lobster...yari ka dun hehehe.
