Stock and scalarized in parallel ? Well, if you do it with a wire, that configuration will bypass the scalarizer and turn it off.

But I guess a 10 ohm or so resistor in parallel with the scalarizer is the way to go. That way, about half of the signal coming in will be stock, direct from the pickups.

At the risk of sounding like tooting my own horn (or blowing my own [sausage] hahehehe), I did hear a marked difference between the stock and metal scalarized from the get-go. Your guitar is gorgeous aesthetically, and very ballsy sounding, stock.

When we connected the metal scalarizer, it sounded ballsy AND sparkly with a cutting midrange presence. Not really day and night difference as what happens when we scalarize [gooey brown stuff] guitars, but it was there. I was even kinda worried because if you already like your bill lawrence pickups to bits, you might opt to remove the scalarizer. Try disconnecting the scalarizer and listening again. I'm quite certain that the difference will not escape you.

I can't deny the fact that there is a difference between stock and scalarized. I was just too fatigued to fully grasp it. The crystal variant brought out a subtle added brightness (yes, a bit of sparkle as well) to the sound which I liked. I'll get back to the guitar later and listen more intently before I go about it in the forum in greater detail.

at the very least, i want to find a way to make the scalarizer switchable. it's gonna be tough without having to drill a new hole though, as you know.

by the way, have you tried wiring both scalarized and stock in parallel? naisip ko lang on the way home. hehehe.

i removed my sz320's tone pot. i tried to replace it with a rotary switch, but the thread wasn't long enough to lock it in the hole. since i don't wanna do any drilling on my guitar, i just settled for a DPDT on-off-on. the problem is i can only switch: stock-off-crystal (or metal), or crystal-off-metal. and since i can't find any distiguishable sound using crystal, i decided to use the metal. this is what i did: the topmost pair of the toggle is shorted (for bypass). the middle pair, i terminated with the metal. then the last pair, with the crystal. in summary, this is my toggle config: on (bypass), off (metal), on (metal & crystal in parallel).

haven't tested it though. ehehehe. i'll try it tonight.

i've been wrestling with my own switching configs... and have tried an on-on switch for stock-crystal and an on-on-on for crystal-crystalmet (in series)-metal. Di ko ma-i-sama yung stock sa latter switching....

Interesting kasi ito para sa mga mahilig magkutingting katulad ko, hehe... Anyways, from what i read sa balak mo, parang kasama pa rin ang metal in parallel when you switch to the desired bypass mode. Just as when you switch to the other side, crystal and metal in parallel yun. Pero, good luck bro. Sana umubra... and balitaan mo kami!

For testing, masarap isipin yung mga wiring config and various possibilities. But differences between one or the other or both may or may not be so subtle (and in the end may depend on your specific guitar and pickups, as others have said). So maybe, pag sa actual gamit na, bakha mas practical to commit to whichever setting you like Best and hard-wire it that way. just IMHO and YMMV.

Aaah... Nice to know. Thanks, bro! Bigay lang sa akin yung on-on-on switch ko. Di pa ako nakakita nito nor a 4P3T either sa Deeco or Alexan. Dalawang on-on pwede for all the 4 options diba? pero ang pangit na tignan!

I tried some wierd wiring with an old guitar (335 clone) by replacing the two volume contols with two pots each having "push/pull on-on"switches to simulate a 2P3T.  Wire it such that at the most likely switching position used, nakabaon (pushed) yung pots so parang standard ang itsura.

microchimp (Kit) had GREAT BIG TONE last night at the Blueskrieg gig.  Gerry (Blueskrieg producer) and I were exchanging comments about how good Kit's tone was; I charged it to his experience and knowledge of the Technology of Tone.  Then BAMF shows up and tells me that it's a scalarized guitar.  Nuff said.

More importantly, Kit, Erick and the rest of Kulukati are great musicians - BAD MOFOs all.  D best prog blues in the country, folks!

microchimp (Kit) had GREAT BIG TONE last night at the Blueskrieg gig.  Gerry (Blueskrieg producer) and I were exchanging comments about how good Kit's tone was; I charged it to his experience and knowledge of the Technology of Tone.  Then BAMF shows up and tells me that it's a scalarized guitar.  Nuff said.

More importantly, Kit, Erick and the rest of Kulukati are great musicians - BAD MOFOs all.  D best prog blues in the country, folks!

Hmm, sayang nga. Pero ok din sana kung may scalarizer na pwede sa end ng chain to massage the signal after going through several stages of effects.
