o by the way, last night I GASSED up full tank. MAY LIBRENg TOBLERONE!!!    :cute:
Malaki o maliit na Toblerone? Sakto, paubos na gas ko. Makahanap nga ng Total.

I once used a nitro+ racing, lintek parang nasobrahan sa kape ang feeling
Haha! Mismong analogy! With precise and efficient shifting, halos 10secs lang yun 0 to 60.

@topic na brand new car
I got the chance to drive that latest model ng Vios na MT way back sa driving school. Swabeng swabe.

Hahaha!

LETS TALK ABOUT SCRATCHES!

Yes those darn lines that ruin the finish of our lovely babes

Ano solution? :-(

May nakita ako un parang magic pen.

^Depende sa lalim ng scratches yan. If those scratches are hairline lang, pwede na rubbing compound. Just use is sparingly kasi baka naman maubos yung top coat ng auto mo.

I just rub it with toothpaste and apply a wax on the area after, (bought a sachet of 3m snth wax), so far mabababaw yung scratches. kahit gano ka kaingat scratch happens.  :-D

hi guys, a car owner here who want to join car forums but feels a bit hesitant...kaya buti na lang meron nito sa philmusic para at least merong "musician's perspective" :p

my car is an old '94 lancer glxi. first owned (washed it when I was grade 6 then started owning it only 8 years ago)

dahil 20+ years old na sya, medyo marami na syang issues and i'd like to "pimp" it up for everyday driving. yung tipong pwede parin umovertake sa bus nang hindi naginginig hehe. considered selling it pero can't afford a brand new one na kasing laki nya.

I just want to get inputs on where to start?
functionality, aesthetics etc. etc.

Thanks in advance

^There are perks in owning an earned and well-maintained car. Pero syempre, time does take toll on your car din.

I suggest doing an overall inventory and checkup of your car. Start with the engine, then the exteriors, and interiors. Why inventory and check up? Simple. From there, replace the crucial parts first. If you plan in upgrading brakes, tapos palitin na yung caliper mo or any part of it, swerte ka kasi isang bilihan na lang. It also makes you knowledgeable about your car. Para pag nasira, kayang kaya mo gawin (as opposed dun sa mga taong drive lang ng drive, di man lang marunong ng simpleng mekaniko things).

Just think of this. You've upgraded your car to doing 0-60 in 2 secs. Yun nga lang, pag nag overtake ka, nakakalas yung bumper or isang gulong mo. Safety muna before bilis :)

Ako before upgrading my car, kahit bago, I checked everything para super sure.  Well, opinion lang naman yan :)

thanks sa tip sir. I think I might need the help of a trusted mechanic to do the inventory and checkup...and nice tip on where to start (engine, then exterior & then interiors). puro patay-sunog mode kasi ako eh.

Yep, that's the way to go. Samahan mo din sya palagi para matutunan mo yung auto mo :) Ako nagmamaintain ng cars namin kaya ang laking tipid (against going to Casa na di naman pulido yung trabaho, x3 pa yung price)

yup. actually yung tatay ko yung nag-maintain (with konting help from me) from '94 to '05. kaya when he officially handed it over to me, sobrang ganda pa. parang time machine to the 90's...sa akin na lang nagkandasira-sira hehe. I know how to do a few things pero i'm nowhere near his level of automotive knowledge.

may nakilala na rin akong repair place na ang may ari dating mechanic sa citimotors Makati (where we got the car back in '94). haven't really talked to him about my idea of fully restoring my car pero I think matutulungan nya ako ng malaki.

pero tingin nyo? a 20+ year old car for everyday driving? worth it pa ba?

Sentiment vs use (vs gastos) yan Sir. Haha.

If the car is in pristine condition (or kung konti lang yung kailangan ayusin), then it's a keeper (for me).

after maayos: "uy! ok na ah! I love you Grunge Machine! (that's what I call my car)"

guys what do you think of this logic..

Buy a New car instead of second hand... and sell after 5 years and get 1/3 -2/3 of the money back.... iwas sakit ng ulo sa repairs at maintenance pag second hand...

so bale halos ganun din ang ginastos mo..siguro a little loss pero at least bago with new car smell and all that jazz at  iwas big headaches at frustrations...

Say bili ka ng brand new na Mirage, for say 600k after 5 years or so..benta mo ng 300k or maybe a little more?  kesa na bibili ka ng 300k na second hand na papayos mo pa..at naglalabasan na ang mga sakit niya..

yortots?

Makes sense di ba? I think its a smart move to buy new that search for old second hand cars..
