the first and (maybe the last time) i saw sugarfree play live was way back 2003 sa freedom bar cubao. hindi pa sila nun masyado sikat pero out na yata yung unang album nila.

sayang talaga. pero i'm not surprised na nagdisband ang bamboo kasi nung pinpapakinggan ko yung last album nila parang walang-wala na yung energy they brought in during their first two. I guess ganun talaga. Dapat bumalik na lang sa rivermaya si Bamboo! hahaha

Sayang din ang sugarfree, pero respeto na lang tayo sa decisions nila. Their music will live on through us, the younger people they influnced. :-)

Hehe. Salamat sa pagpapangiti brad. Hehe. Di mo lang rin kasi siguro maintindihan. Simula't sapul sinuportahan ko na talaga ang bandang Bamboo. Talagang hardcore fan ako ng bandang to eh. Kaya di rin madali yung nangyari. Daig pa ang pakiramdam ng binasted ng nililigawan ng sampung beses.

sayang naman sila pa naman bumubuhay sa opm lalo na yung bamboo ganda ng music videos nila yung 'muli' may kwento di katulad sa ibang foreign or local music videos na nakatuon lang sa kanila, headbang lang ng headbang, magpapapogi lang hanggang sa matapos. ok lang naman yun pero what i mean is kakaiba yung sa bamboo. sana bumalik sila kahit sa ibat ibang banda kasi konti nalang ang pinapatugtog na opm sa radyo at tv. lalo na yung myx badtrip nawala yung mtv sa cable namin at wala naman kaming channel v, myx lang ang natira, badtrip kasi bago ako makapanood ng opm or foreign music videos na gusto ko KPOP muna makikita ko. balik na kayo agad mga sir

That "nod/smile" at 3:49 made me curious...

Was it the "feeling" he had while playing that made him "play" like that...

Or was it because "playing the drums" made him "feel" that way..

I tried to find it out for myself...

talent-wise and technically speaking, each individual had so much to offer...

but band-wise...their musicality, imho, the forumula of songwriting, melody, and especially the arrangements were all pretty the same from the first up to the last album.  Because of that, am only a fan of their first album. Bought their second, but I felt they had nothing new to offer.

I feel their endorsements gave more success to the band financially than their music.  Ewan ko lang..feel lang naman.

same formula din, but...somehow I am a fan of Sugarfree more than Bamboo.

+1 para sa opinion sa bamboo sir...
ganun din ako nun... napaka aktibo ko sa mga gigs nila nun with BELIEVER (tawag sa fans nila).
1st and 2nd album, ok na ok sakin, halos memoryado ko lahat...
tapos nung 3rd album na, bumili parin ako ng cd nila (orig ha) hehe! pero parang di ko na sya naapreciate, nawala na nga yung cd na yun na hindi ko namamalayan e...
parang pareho na nga lahat halos yun tunog.
nung 4th album na, sobrang di na ko updated e...

pero nakakalungkot parin na wala na nga sila...
isa sa pinaka matagumpay na banda at muling bumuhay sa eksena ng banda sa pinas ang bamboo e. imho.

Di ba nabuo lang naman yang Row4 na yan from last year's song-writing camp? Not that serious I think.

Na-appreciate ko lang Bamboo sa first album nila. Very Raw, sarap pakinggan. Then as they went along, medyo nagiging malumanay. I remember Bamboo's statement nung nag-transition sila to the 2nd album that they wanted to experiment and they wanted something new. Quite a risk, and I think sumobra yata and a few followers didn't get it.

Oh well, there are a lot of good bands out there, suporta lang ang kailangan mula satin.

agree aku dun sa mga nauna about dun sa last album nila pero i was expecting it was just a bump, which was good for other bands para makahanp ulit sila ng bagong sound or style.. i was just waiting for the next album makakabawi sila HAIIIZTTTTTT very sad :cry: pero oonga naman mahirap ngayon magbounce back wala masyadong bumibili ng OPM lately this is an effect of total KPOP domination.... OPM MABUHAY KA NAMAN

sayang talaga yung dalawang bands.

i remember concert ng bamboo ang pinaka unang gig na napuntahan ko. yun yung sa unang album launch ata nila sa ynares sa antipolo. sa may bleachers pa kami nun nakapwesto kasi hanggang dun lang kinaya ng budget namin. tapos nung tutugtog na sila bamboo sumigaw si nathan na "yung mga nasa bleachers magsibaba na kayo dito sa gitna" tapos babaan kaming lahat na nasa bleachers. haha. nalugi tuloy yung mga nagbayad ng vip na nasa gitna dapat kasi napunta sila sa likod tapos kami yung napunta sa gitna. haha. yun yung pinaka astig na memory ko sa banda ng bamboo. sayang disbanded na sila.

sugarfree astig din yun sayang nadisband din. anu na ba nangyayari sa OPM scene? KPOP at si Justin Bieber may kasalanan nito eh.  :evil:
