Thanks for these infos guys!

I thought I was going for the ZHT (JB) and the B8 Pro (Yupangco) kasi sila ung main players sa lowend/midend cymbals market. I never thought may mga ganitong cymbals on the tier na palaban na.

I will visit today ung stores to check out the deals and will post again kung alin ung kinuha ko :D

Anyway, hirap pa din father and brother ko sa good set na bibilihin nila (haha!). They are eyeing for a Gretsch Catalina Maple/Ash na 6pc sana, mga nasa ganung level pero I think meron pang mas better. Any suggestions?

Maraming salamat ulit! :)

Oh those B8 Pros are horrible, for me at least. Too much ping and way too bright. And of course, still a beginner cymbal. Zildjian ZHT naman is the Sabian APX equivalent, though B10 ang ZHT at B8 ang APX, ZHT isn't really targeted to professionals and is marketed as an intermediate cymbal line. It has its place though, pang metal/hard rock, parang budget version ng Zildjian Z line.

with regards sa drums, mas mahirap pumili dahil may brand loyalties yan. ako Pearl guy ako (kahit Yamaha ang nasa bahay  ), so Pearl ang iaadvise ko  Tama and Yamaha are popular choices here too

Regarding your kit, aside from Pearl and Tama, try also Sonor, available sa JB or Salonga, I'm a Sonor guy.  :)

Ingat lang sa yupangco tho. Matador sila kung tumaga sa presyo.

Hi guys I'm back!

I got the Istanbul Mehmet Samatya set ok na ba un? 23K from Lazer (thanks to my xmas bonus!).

BTW, wala pa din kaming drumset. Haha! hirap brother and father ko humanap ng set. So your suggestions are Pearl, Tama, Yamaha. I have some variants to consider (their budget 40K max) :

1. Pearl Target or better (hindi nila type ung tom racks ng model na to) - JB MUSIC or??
2. Tama (wala pang variant and we are not aware where to get one)
3. Yamaha Gigmaker (OK ba ang quality and sound nito? Nice hardware tho.) - YUPANGCO

What we want from our budget is quality drums with good hardware and good wood. We know we won't get the best from the budget we got, pero at least macompensate based in the quality of the drums itself.

Thanks in advance and thanks for all the infos guys! :)

Congratulations bro! that's a great cymbal set! :D

now for the kit, IMHO, best bets for me would be the TAMA Superstar. I think pasok naman sa budget.

you can visit audiophile to see the TAMA Kits. my advice din, you can look at second hand kits :) para mas makamura ka :) kung gusto mo ng second hand kits, we can help you choose :D maraming mint condish kits dun na pamigay hahahaha :D
hahaha ako binibiyak ko muna yung wetpaks para makita kung may yellow thingy hahahaha

Hey good to hear from you again. Going with the Samatyas is not a bad decision at all, compared to what's available now in the market. That's bang for the buck for sure.

About your kit naman...personally you may want to look for something a notch higher than entry or student level kits like the Target/Gigmaker...try checking out the silverstar or superstar of Tama, or the Ludwig Epic...the key is go around and check what's available...and if you're open to acquiring a 2nd hand kit, ok din since there are some quality 2nd hand kits being offered here sa for sale thread...good luck and hope you find what you're looking for! ; )

okay ba ang mapex drum kit? yung horizon hzb or kahit yung meridian birch?
sa mga mapex user ano po masasabi nyo dito:

gaano katagal na sya sa inyo?
matibay ba yung lugs?(hindi ba nasisira pagtagal at pag naitono ng mataas?)
okay ba yung hardware?(cymbal/snare stand)

diecast hoops will not help you. besides its always better - no, not better - ITS ALWAYS BEST to acoustically treat your room first. kahit di ka magrerecording.

kung mareverb, add a lot of:
1. absorbers - carpet, kurtina, sofa, unan
2. diffusers - bookshelves
