Tuning Stability

Guys pano maimprove ang tuning stability sa Strat ko (other than changing hardware, i.e. Floyd Rose, locking nut, etc)? Thanks!

I think your nut (no pun intended) has something to do with it.

pinaka the best is don't forget to stretch your strings when replacing it. stretch then tune to pitch, do it again and again hanggang stable na yung pitch kahit stretch mo pa ung string. if problem persist, replace your tuning keys. gud luck!

i know this isn't what you want to hear, but the most dramatic improvement in tuning stability i've experienced in a non-Floyd guitar was when i had my guitar's bone nut replaced with a graphtech trem nut. other materials such as regular graphite or slipstone will likely work as well.

in the past, i used to write on the nut slots using a #1 pencil. hehehe, halos pagalitan ako ni Jun Castro when i persisted with the practice, and with good reason. in the short term, my strat did stay in tune pretty well despite a good amount of whammy abuse. but the pencil lead/graphite gunked up the nut slots as time went by, dulling the sound of the open strings and making it even more difficult to stay in tune. i suppose you can apply pencil lead then clean the slots up often. kaso hassle naman.

pinaka importante sa lahat yung tuners..it should be very stable..kasi kahit ba ok yung nut mo, kung madali naman magloose sa tuners, wala din...

mas ok ba ang graphtech compared to an LSR roller nut?
i'm interested. :D as i'm planning to get  a set of locking tuners along with it.

just stretch your strings properly...whether you have locking tuners or not shouldn't matter unless you really, really, really have a heavy picking hand.

Tignan mo rin yung tension ng springs sa likod.  Dapat ma-overcome niya yung hatak ng strings lalo na kung malakas ka mag-string bending.

in my experience, nut binding has been the biggest headache when it comes to tuning stability.

Nagpabili si Al ng GraphTech nut blank sa Singapore (when I took a vacation there a month ago).

Sometimes, Audiophile sells graphite nuts. I just didn't take the chance to wait and see if their next shipment would include those. I've been told once that they can accept orders, though. Not sure if that still stands.

im surprised nobody mentioned yet about having enough winds on the tuners -- should have 3-5 winds around to make it stable.
