IMO a tubescreamer or a Boss BD-2 will be good on playing blues.
You don't even need to use an effects pedal; you can just plug straight into a clean amp. Listen to Anson Funderburgh, for example. He's from Dallas, Texas, but his strat tone is so clean, and his licks are to drool for. Jummy Vaughan is another example. So not all Texas blues is in the cliched overdriven SRV style.

why? i can't imagine MT-2 meets Blues.IMO it sounds too heavy for blues.
Have you heard of poppa chubby? Although he doesn't use an MT-2 he has quite a heavy tone.But he does play a lot of hendrix which kinda explains a lot.
