Sarado rin ba utak mo sa ibang genre???

Napansin ko lang kasi, ang daming metal listeners na ang hilig mang-look down sa ibang genre, especially mga alternatives, emo and more. Bakit naman ako metal roots din ako but I listen to other genre, glam rock, pop rock/alternative, brit-pop, opm bands, jazz, pati emo pinakinggan ko and ok naman. Why can't others be more open minded about music? Kung ayaw mong maging open mind and metal lang talaga gusto mo, bakit kailangan mo laitin yung ibang genre, kesyo emo is gay, coldplay is gay...doesn't seem fair.

Put it this way.  I don't think it is fair for a 13-year old to say Frank Sinatra and Sam Cooke sucks. 

It's just a matter of taste, and field of experience.  In fact, the genre wars is what makes music more interesting.

we all have to pull for our own respective generations. we dont have to be beholden to the ones who came before or after. of course the more open you are the richer your pool of resources will be...

Me im not ,coz ive been into lot of genre,i used to listen to loud music before ,ganun talaga mas matindi ka pag mas maingay ka, but as time goes by mag memellow din yung tenga mo sa maiingay ,in other word magmamature din genre nila paatras ,me ? im into blues ryt now and my ear is wanting to try some jazz music later on , so try to cope up lang po bro its a process.  peace!!!!

Being a musician is exploring the vast variety of genres to better open your senses to what you really want. Kunwari metalhead ka pero habang naglalaon, you feel something is missing, maybe there is another genre for you. Constant search for answers lang naman yan. Comment ko lang dun sa mga closed-minded. Hindi kayo musikero, poser lang kayo na nakiki-uso. Ayaw niyo mag-grow sa music niyo. And what's worse is they discriminate the other genres.

How can you come to hate a genre if you have not heard it. You MAY NOT LIKE A GENRE, but you cannot close your mind to it. Yun lang.

Honestly, i don't like emo music that much, pero hindi lahat. I still listen to some. I don't hate the genre, i hate the posers. I still listen to Paramore, Typecast, Chicosci and other mainstream emo na hindi masyado whiney ang boses. Pero i don't close my mind to it. Maybe when the time comes, makikinig din ako. Pero not now. I'm not ready yet.

Isa pa, music is free for all. You can listen to an genre you what, no matter how heavy or gay the music your into. magkakaiba tayo ng tenga at gusto. pero ma maganda kung yung tenga at isip mo di stuck up sa isa, we all need varieties for our musical growth. Bottomline is, no discrimnation, yes to respect!

ganun talaga eh. di naman lahat ng tao bukas ang mga utak. binary oppositions lang. pag may bukas, di pwedeng walang sarado. may maganda, may panget.

dapat lang talaga, pakinggan mo muna bago mo sabihing hindi mo gusto para may basehan ang pagiinarte. tulad nung emo. pinakinggan ko kaya di ko nagustuhan. hindi dahil sa uso lang ang mang asar sa mga emo.

ganun tlga yun.. you cant blame them kung ayaw nla sa isang type ng music or kung anuman.. may mga taong gus2 ang adobo, merong ding ayaw ng adobo. may taong gus2 ng chicken curry, may mga taong ayaw sa chicken curry.. panlasa lng yan.. wla kang magagawa kung ayaw nla ng ganung music.. its their choice.

I agree. Every music has it's classification!

What I mean is, you shouldn't accept yourself as fitting only in certain genres.  You must be open-minded by listening to other genres as well.  There are interesting bits out there we could always incorporate into our music.

Personally, when we come up with songs that are weird (naiba tunog natin ah!), it amuses me, because if we keep tweaking our arrangement, it is possibly the start of something new.  Innovation my friends.

So genre?  Would you like to fit in just one genre?

A few years back, yes, now, I'm open to all genres. To become a better musician, I believe you have to be receptive to all kinds of music eh. But that's just me. ^_^
