Tigil muna ko sa dslr, try ko muna mag compact, i just got canon S100 today, try ko shoot bukas.
Keep on posting lang. Pansin ko lumalaki demand sa semi pro/compact cameras. Bibigat kase ng dslr's, though image quality and functionality, win pa rin ang dslr ciempre :)

hmmm mukang ok ah. im buying the fuji x10 next week at parang mas maganda yung s100 at least based on specs. can you give me your reason why you choose the s100 over any of the popular models? besides of course if you already are a canon user hehehe
EDIT: im sticking with the x10. deal breaker sa s100 yung kawalan ng flash hotshoe at yung 15 sec na shutter speed nya

I am a NikOn guy bro, and am waiting for the replacement of the d300s, so habang wala pa, compact muna ko for convenience.
It took me a week of research, and trying my friend's cameras, the sony nex, canon g12, lx5 and nikon p7100.
Though the s100 is slow and focusing isn't that great, i still bought it due to image quality. Can't be happier, a lot of reviews in youtube agree as well.
s95 has been great, so i'm sure this won't fail me. So far, im satisfied, though i'll try long exposures next week tsaka na rin yung built in hdr mode nya.

s100 or x10? for me i go for x10 all the way, i love the retro look/feel, gwapong gwapo :-D it has optical view finder, flash hot shoe, fast focus and more controls though s100 is really compact and mas mura, so for low budget, better IQ and compact camera, go for s100. for gwapo look and the specs above go for x10 :-D

maganda ng lx5 bro... but if you want a smaller pocketable compact, i suggest you look at the canon s95 or s100.

When I go back..Im going to switch to a compact camera na a better one...I switched to a cheapo HP since I broke a few Good Sony's but, using a cheapo cam is damn frustrating and the results are just so so...I seldom bring my DSLR since its kinda heavy and nowadays Im not that excited in shooting anymore..Id rather have a nice comfy enjoyable walk in a ew place or city..with just a a good compact cam in my pocket than lugging heavy DSLR gear...
I also noticed the DSLR fad in the Philippines and the SUper Paranoia of security guards with people taking photos especially with DSLRs thats why I lost the mood to shoot..though I must admit there are lots nice things to shoot..pero lahat laging may bayad..pffft...no wonder tourism aint booming..go around asia even china..you could walk for hours with your dslr on your neck and you wont get hassled..anyway...I plan to leave my gear here and just purchase a better compact cam when I get back..quite excited about it..
I do have the occasional GAS for Camstuff pero mas nahihigitan siya ng Guitar Gas ko...for the price of an Nikor 18-200 lens Id rather get me a nicely built electric with P90's...more satisfaction and fun...

mismo bro... i remember nung nagshoot kame sa may MOA, binawalan kame agad ng guard, sobrang strict... mas ok pa mamicture sa provice, sa mga bukirin :-D
good thing here in Singapore, kahit saan pwede ka kumuha, sobrang laki kase ng tourism dito, sobrang inaalagaan talaga mga bisita...
for now compact muna, soon back to dslr ako :)

I have tons of shots in my hard drive and have 3 backups for my photos.I treasure my photos..will try to post dito..I made a photowall once..where I chose all my favorite shots and had it printed..and posted it all randomly sa window..parang photo curtain..hahaha..will try to post some old shots..hassle kasi kailangan ko pa i-upload sa Photobucket then attach dito..kaya ang tagal..haha..there was even this nice nature tourist spot na nagtake advantage sa mga photographer ..2000 pesos camera corkage pag may DSLR at pumasok sa place na yun..damn..Ive had my share of sita-sita..even just by shooting paintings i like done by Botong Francisco hanging sa PGH..kahit nga UST pag di ka nakauniform..at nagshoshoot ka paghihinalaan ka na may gagawing masama..Im really sick of this culture of distrust and fear sa pinas...haaaay.....eh pano ba naman look at this guy na nanamntala sa isang forumite just now the guy from negros..laking hassle yun..paano ka pa magtitiwala sa mga tao na nagbebenta dito.. dapat 200% vigilant ka to deal...never experienced that in Shanghai where I bought and met lots of musikeros from all over the world selling their gear.....bummer...

Nikons are good, was planning on getting one though i went with the reviews and got me the S100. So far, wala pa namang problema.
You won't go wrong with a Nikon. I was about to get a d700 but bough a guitar instead :eek:

Nikonian din ako!hehehe ..buti nga may mga mega shops dito (like best buy) na may samples sila to test on the showroom floor..kahit nga lente eh! ewan ko ba for sure sa pinas pagnagkaganitong shop..aabusuhin at sigurado sisirain or nanakawin..anyway..sort of unsure with semi-pro compact cameras eh..research at canvass muna..kinda excited..to make the shift...yoko na magbuhat ng mga gear and stuff..keep it simple and light stage na ako...hahaha..will update you guys hopefully sana this weekend..punta ako sa parang greenhills nila dito para masmura at pwede tumawad..pero really setting my eyes on a Coolpix P300...small, light, nice body..1.8 aperture for night shots..actually..gusto ko sana may viewfinder at AA batteries equiped..di na kasi gaanong uso yung ganung features na yan sa mga compact cams..ang pinakahate ko touch screen controls..grabe!like yung mga sony na screen lang yung likod.. hahaha
Panalo yang P300, i'm sure you'll love it. Ang angas pa ng itsura. Nikon ako solid. Nag aantay lang ako mag labas ng bagong dx :)

grainy siya, I think ganun na talaga mga LCD screens..di tulad ng dati..grainy lang pag low light and bago magprocess ng photo..pero sa PREVIEW maganda naman..so far still getting used to it...
medyo di ko lang type yung nasa ilalim yung usb port niya..and medyo nabubulkihan ako sa parang ring na nakaikot sa lens..medyo umiinit din siya pag nakavideo..I guess thats normal..pero still checking..overall "ok" naman..pero di kayang itapat sa S-95's to..
type ko yung panorama..and di naman talaga magkaka BOKEH sa 1.8 ...have yet to shoot night scenes..to test it out..

nice review bro! kaso lang iniiwasan ko talaga is yung pagiging grainy ng screen kung nakalive view eh. kasi yung SonyJ10 ng GF ko binenta lang din namin dahil lang sa grainy na lcd. hahaha

1. ganun ba talaga pag ka nagpreview mejo malabo muna yung pic tas lilinaw? gets mo? hehe
2. pano malalaman kung full charge na?
3. pagbakinabit ko sa laptap or pc eh magchacharge na?
4. yung manual mo ba german? haha (yung akin kasi german wala manlang english translation.)

Yup! ganun na ang mga pics ngayon lalo matataas yung megapixels..medyo nagprocess pa kasi yung camera..alam ko a solution is to get a faster memory card....mga calss 10..a bit pricey though..sanayan lang..peeve ko nga to dati pa....kahit sa DSLR..pero..ganun talaga eh...so dont worry about that..

hanep! yang X100 talaga ang first choice ko eh.. kaso talagang bubutas ng bulsa yan, lalo na ngayong mataas ang presyo ng gasolina kaya nag stick nalang ako sa baby brother nyang X100 which is the X10 heheheh..
pag ako nakaluwag iiskor din ako nyan.. :)
anyways dude, tanong ko lang yung hybrid viewfinder nya.. may bracketing ba? makikita mo ba yung frame ng actual na makukunan mong area? diba since rangefinder type ang viewfinder ng X10 and X100 hindi 100% yung lalabas sa picture sa nakikita mo sa viewfinder..
sa X10 kasi walang nakikita kahit anong value sa viewfinder kaya tantyahan ang bracketing ng frame.. altho may 90% similarity sa nakukunan ko sa nakikita ko sa viewfinder pag naka "zoom in" ako..
meron ba sya visible "bracket" or "frame" sa viewfinder pag kumukuha ka? :?

nice! so ok pala talaga ang hybrid viewfinder nyan! heheheh so parang hindi pala sya rangefinder (altho it looks like one) mas trip ko kasi ang sumisilip sa viewfinder kesa sa tumitingin sa LCD eh..
so dun sa viewfinder bro naka display din yung attributes and settings mo? yung current na nakaset na ISO, WB, F number tsaka exporsure speed?

im having a love/hate thing with my x100...the pics are very beautiful when it works BUT ang dami kong nasayang na moments dito sa japan kasi sumablay yung focusing
might consider selling it when i get back home :-\
