Hi, i saw this sticks sa Yupangco almost half the price ng Vic firth 250php actually.
Gawa rin po ba sya ng Vic Firh?
How about its Quality?

Yes they are made by Vic Firth..The way I look at it it's the economy version of the American Classic'. They are if not side by side just a wee bit behind from the Classic' quality :lol:
Very good drumsticks considering the price and quality..

Yes!..Good drumsticks but less cost. I use this sitcks on practice but I often used it in gigs because I use Regal tip Rock drumsticks ... :wink:

wahah!!! hindi ako kaya ng NOVA drumsticks ahehehe...simula palang nung gig kanina bumigay na agad ung dulo ng stick pero solid ung body ha...ayos sana kung medyo makapal lang ung sa may tip...5A's gamit ko try ko bumili ng 5B and let's see.... :-D

i bought mine sa musiciansfriend for $24 yata for 12 pairs. ok naman siya actually better than zildjians na nagamit ko. 5AN yung binili ko pala na NOVA sticks

better talaga siya sa zildjians para sakin.. mura pa.. ung nova 5a ko 1 year na buhay parin.. :-D

cgro tlgang hindi 5AN ang para sa ken kaya ko nabali agad...i'll try 5B. tama!!!mura sa states kung $24 lang, mga 1100php lang kapag converted ibig sbhin mahal na pala ung 250php...ahehe :-D

Bad trip mga pare!!bali na 7a kung nova drum sticks,2 weeks lang,nag tataka ako,ung dati ko namang 5a eh umabot ng 9 months,nawala tuloy tiwala ko sa nova..

No 2 stick of the same brand and type are the same since the natural wood grain is nature in itself therefore unpredictable so this is where quality control from each stick company comes in. Your style of playing and stick technique has a lot to do with breaking/damaging sticks..last year when I was starting to play I would break Vic Firth American Classic 5A and 5AN in a month, then switched to Zildjian 5A and 5AN and still broke them..then I was taught about hand/grip technique..after that I paid close attention on how I would handle the sticks..now I use Fernando 5AN and it would last about 3 months at an average without breaking. The one I have now has been with me for 6 months already. (Though the Fernando does feel hollow compared to the more expensive one's, great for practice though at P70/pair) Though Gospel is my usual genre I also like to fool around but do not consider myself to be a hard hitter..so it may also be another reason for maintaining my sticks :wink:
NOVA are great sticks I'm telling you, get one and try it side by side an American Classic and you will notice minimal differences. Get one of the Lazer or Fernando sticks then try a NOVA and you'll appreciate it better.. :lol:
NOVA has said to be over runs of American Classics which are priced 2-3 times the price of the NOVA. Usually cosmetic defects are the only factors involved since NOVA is still being quality controlled by Vic Firth company.
I would suggest focusing on technique and trying the different types of stick that would suit your genre and needs..once you focus on that you will notice your sticks are lasting longer than the usual :-D

The Nova 12-Pair Hickory Drumsticks are manufactured in the U.S. and have minor cosmetic blemishes that don't impact their playability in any way.

The durability of sticks depends on how the drummer use it. May ibang tumagal, may ibang hindi.
Novas are inconsistent. May ibang solid may ibang ampaw. Kasi sila yung reject ng Vic Firth. Hindi porke matigas yung stick ay solid na sha not until mag snap na sha sa gig mismo. Which yun yung nangyayare sakin.

Big difference right? sa tingin mo mag slash ba ng more than 50% yung Vic Firths kung cosmetic blemishes lang problema nyan? No.... Feeling ko butas sa loob yan kaya madaling magsnap. Well yan lang napansin ko.

hi..nova is under the vic firth company..it just so happen that this is there budget stcisk or entry level kaya mas mura..

nakakahinayang talaga. pero hanggang ngayon di ko parin alam kung bakit ang layo ng price gap ng vic firth pati nova..

Sulit ang NOVA..makunat ung wood and its kinda cheap..ehe..actually im using NOVA 5A..SOLB!
