actually, reading this thread..parang nga naging mainstream na masyado at "painted into a corner" yung nonconformist culture, mindset and attitude...and parang naging negative label ang term na "hipster"..hahaha
pero i guess, higher practitioners and believers are beyond the clothes, the hype..the usual stereotypes...the music..
higher level folks, dont even need society to look at what their doing, how they are living their lives.. they just naturaly do...usually inconspicously pa..and not draw attention..kasi true lifestyle nila yun...
normal avaerage folk, leading alternative, non conformist lives...sticking it up to the MAN, as plainly as possible...
Those who support their local businesses and industries.. green low carbon, non hyper consumeristic attitudes..biking on their simple regular bikes to everywhere..supporting local music scene and arts..with out wearing hey look at me Im a hipster fashionista stuff... breast feeding their kids, homeschooling them as much as they can...taking them to museums, parks, and educational trips more than buying them fad toys and video games...running their own e-shop focusing on high quality handmade products...and all that jazz..
those folks you see, all parading and flaunting the "Hey look Im cool, Im hipster" with 700 selfies on their instagram wearing their latest ETSY finds (which they will only wear or use once or twice).... are the ones trying hard to prove something that they are...na most of the time they are not..
