So I'm using POD farm 2 and sonar x3. I have to admit, nahihirapan ako sa mix ng guitar.
Im really a drummer and switched to home recording due to my work.

Can you give me tips on how you achieved your tone? I know its different per individual pero hanap ko lang is yung decent tone.

I have ezmix2 but its more of a pain than a tool.

This is what im previously workin on;

for this specific mix, I think the guitar tone is being muddled by the drums. Yung resonance ng drums sumasapaw dun sa bass, and to an extent sa mids ng guitar. since scooped yung guitar sound I think makakatulong yung konting push sa high end para may sizzle, plus isang manipis na boost sa frequency kung saan malakas yung sipa ng guitars sa may bandang mids/high mids para mag cut sa mix. tapos taas mo pa yung guitars sa mix ng konti, pati yung snare. kung may reverb yung kick tanggalin mo na lang, hayaan mo yung bass yung magprovide ng resonance.

di ko alam kung samples yung drums, but anyway, I'd EQ the kick to just have mostly the attack, or pick a drier sample without a boom. that will give more space for the guitar tapos kusang lulutang sa mix yan. if you need more attack without sacrificing resonance, pwede mo i-duck yung bass track (google it, it's a favorite house/EDM technique)

tame you low end sir mas na overpower nya yung guitars. bass is there to support. maybe multiband compressor is what you need for your bass. guitar tone wise there is a little mud i think you need to lower down on the gain dept. lead tone needs more mid bumbs. over all i like your production. i hope you post more.

ewan ko kung pwede pumili sa garageband ng ibang snare sample pero mas bagay ata pag mas high pitched yung snare. more mids and highs sa guitar for more clarity, or cut a frequency in the karton mids zone. J/humbucker bass ba yan? dagdagan mo ng mids basta tunog P bass na open yung tone pot. otherwise a good recording  :)

Wow- thanks sa instant replies.

Yup- thats home recording.

So for the drums, I used ezdrummer 2. So limited yung effects gamit ko yung kit ni haake thats why the sound is like that.

For the rhythym guitar, wala na ko nilagay na effects sa daw, same goes with the lead (wow, di naman marunong) part.

Marami pa kong stuff just like that.

Plug: looking for collaborators:)

di ako familiar sa ez drummer but I think it's better to use a less resonant kit. or since plugin naman yan, swap out the kick for a studio tuned one. resonance is all over the place. the kit would work great on arena rock but not on something this complex  :)

:) Thank you for the comments, to be honest... super starter palang ako sa recording, I just watch youtube vids and pindot pindot lang sa reaper kung ano sa tingin ko ay maganda hehe   . 1.
2.  Try mo irecord yun rhythm guitars ng naka hard pan sa left and right channel. Tunog one-dimensional kasi kapag nasa gitna lang yun guitar tracks. Matrabaho pero totally worth it.

Overall, I like the track. Masarap sa tenga yun melody.

Spot on!

I like these mixes in general (ang iikli nung clips napakinggan ko lahat  ). hindi muddy! just tone down the kick a bit and bring up the bass a little more and you're golden  :)

1. Yes meron siyang Compression and Limiter, galing mo! hehe! so babawasan ko yun dapat?
2. I am still learning kung paano ba yang panning and channels, kaya gitna lang talaga halos lahat.
3. In my drums sa garageband, medyo ma trabaho siya talaga  , I am planning to use my Electric Drums nalang for recording. --- though I still need practice at nahihirapan din ako mag drums using metronome-- as in hirap na hirap talaga ako at hindi ako natural drummer! hehe!  kaya more practice!

Salamat sir sa Feedback dami kong natutunan!  -- this is a new song I created for my band glad you liked it!  :cute:
