Title: Neck Dive
Post by: hardcorehope on February 05, 2018, 12:23:00 PM
hey! good day! just got SX SG special from a trade. looks 10/10, sounds 10/10, action, intonation, playability is great, my only concern is the neck dive.
I repeat, neck dive. its neck and maybe headstock is too damn heavy or maybe the positioning of the strap buttons.
Any suggestions to reduce the SG's neck dive issue? any comments will help. thank you :)

Tho hindi ko na-try myself, naibenta ko na yung gitara before I saw the workaround. Risky lang kasi will have to drill another hole para sa pin.

2 things you can do.

1. Reposition the strap button closer to the neck to shift the support relative to the guitar's center of gravity.

2. Get a strap with a "suede underside". The suede will grab onto your shirt or skin (if you play shirtless) and will prevent slipping. The guitar's neck won't dive.

THIS! Nag neck dive S ibanez ko kapag nylon strap gamit ko. Changed the strap to suede levys.

Ala Rosetta Tharpe

Having same problem with my new SG.
