I got this problem lately.. nag unload na ko ibang progs, thorough virus scan using eset trial version & clean -up , pero ganun pa rin..
what other tests do u think i can do to figure out the problem? could this me a processor issue? mobo? heat problem? harddrive?
thanks

one more thing i noticed, pag sinabay ko win media player sa pag susurf .. its worst..
am beginning to suspect na processor...

See if you have an executable called helpsvc.exe when you call up Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del). This service has a nasty habit of raising cpu utilization to 100%. There is a registry hack to disable that service if you google around. Be careful when fooling around with the registry, you could trash windows. Always backup your registry before performing any operation on it.
The media player thing also happened to me once. I just resorted to using other media player programs like foobar, Quicktime Alternative and DivX player. WMP likes to index every file in the folder you are accessing so like if you have a music folder that is tens of gigabytes full, imagine the work windows has to perform on that folder. Just move the files to another folder that is not within any of WMP's Monitor Folders (see Tools > Options).

Try downloading a spyware searching program like 'Spybot'. Run it and delete the unwanted spyware programs... Do a check at least once a week...
If you've been looking at porn sites, you must have a lot... hehehe
-
ikaw ba c dindin ng parokya? heheh!
anyways, punta ka msconfig sa run, disable ka ng lahat ng startup programs, sa services, uncheck mu ung "hide microsoft services" tpos disable all services. lemme know if same problem persists.. - pc doc.. LOLZ! :-D
-
thanks for ur replies..
sir Kit, there was no helpsvc.exe in the list.
one thing i noticed as well, if i watch youtube vids, sobrang bagal na, kahit di ko sya play, i have to close the window para mag normalize ng konti..
sir Hunk, wala sa list ung "hide microsoft services" , is there another term for it?
thanks
by the way: i also tried this speedfan 4.33 temp monitoring software, kaso di ko maintindihan, it shows 5 temperatures for five fans, the first one is 79C, others were 40C average.. anyone familiar with this? am suspecting the 79C is the cpu temp.. coz after booting up i ran this program, 45C pa lang un...
-

start>run>msconfig
there are several tabs there, go to startup, theres a button that says, disable all, click on that, hit apply, then go to services tab. now theres a check box that says "hide microsoft services", right beside "enable all" button, put a check on that, click disable all, hit apply and ok, it will ask you to restart the computer. click ok, let it reboot. not lemme know if same problem persists! :-D

^update:
I disabled all the start-up programs, hide all microsoft services, still have same problem..
CPU usage still suddenly fluctuates to 100% once in while.. lalo na pag sinabay audio player or browse sa youtube... :|
ito ngapala ung speefan 4.33

Nagooverheat CPU mo bro kaya ganyan.

try ko muna cleaning before anything else.
salamat uli

oh n btw, nagsshutdown ba pc mu? kung nag ooverheat ang cpu mu, malamang nagsshutdown nyan. check ur bios, may system event log dpat dun. :-)
-
di naman sya nag hahang or nag shushutdown magisa kahit maghapon ginamit .. my main problem realy is ung latency talaga..
if i shut it down the normal way nag shushutdown naman sya properly...

kelan mo napansin ung problem ng pc mu? ugn CPU usage nagffluctuate ng 100percent? if u know when it was, try mu system restore.
start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore.
it will just revert yer computer to an earlier state, supposedly, if may ngawa ka sa computer mu na nagtrigger ng problem. :-)
-
ung problem about two to three months ago... sobrang bumabagal... so we decided to back up some files then reformat... nung una ok pa... pero sandali lang.. cguro after a week ganun uli...
we checked everything during that time.. hdd is ok, ram is ok
di ko pa na try system restore..
try ko mamya
thanks sir

-
this my usual task manager processes display
YM, nod32, firefox ung nakabukas nung time na yan
(http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o5/ponky26/taskmanager.jpg)
-
NOD32 has a file manager scanning mode that scans files on first open then proceeds to scan files in the folder. Try turning off that feature muna then try media player again. You don't need to system restore because that will not guarantee it will return your pc to a working state; any updates you performed and any applications that were installed often include a restore point in their installation process. Furthermore, system restore sometimes deletes files that were created after the restore point so if you have important files and documents, always back those up.
-
doing system restore will not delete files, it will delete apps that uve installed though from the point of restoration. yes, it may not work but thinking that if the problem may have something to do with a recent hardware/software changes, it may do the trick. 8-)
-
You may have spyware or just a plain virus. :-D

i agree dude! kc kung nagiinit ang CPU mu, dpat ngsshutdown yan. usually, cases like, CPU/memory usage thats usually on 100percent on an idle time, malamang virus yan. :-)
-
-
binuksan ko casing.. then tutok ng fan..
nag improve.. walang latency... ung temp bumaba ng 10C
consistent sa 68 to 69C
pero di ko pa nalilinis... this weekend pa
so i think di sya software issue...
observe ko parin
thanks uli sa mga troubleshooting suggestions
-
gano katagal na yang pc mo?
stock fan ba gamit mo?
-
1 year & a half,
stock CPU & fan lang
may isang 80mm chassis fan sa side, tsaka isa likod
-

so far after 2 1/2 hours.. using the speedfan 4.33 temp sensor consistent na sa
46C to 48C ung dating 69C to 71C reading , although according to what i've read ideal should be 40C.. performance wise OK na sya, just like it use to be .. i dont experience any latency kahit sabay sabay na kabukas browser, spreadsheet sw, media player , with AV turned on, & YM..
im planinng to add for fans..
or replace my stock HSF with a pretty good one, ung tama lang di naman ung t ipong Zalman na overkill naman ata para sa PC ko.. any suggestions??
thanks
-
@Ponky - thats good to know pre
-
^^ sir thanks, thanks din sa lahat ng suggestions and inputs dito sa thread na to
sr jun_gats pm sent
-
-
Gratz!! :-D
