« on: September 28, 2009, 03:15:49 PM »
Yupangco will be having seperate Yamaha Snare Drums soon (next year is the most). Any suggestions forumates???
They intend to order:
Signature models of Dave Weckl, Akira Jimbo, Sonny Emory, etc.
Tour Custom Snares(all maple shells 6 ply), and Stage custom snares (all birch shells 6 ply): sizes(14x15.5, 12x5,10x5)

Additional info and suggestions will be a good help.

Thanks guys... :-)

Which one? The 13x6.5 maple shell, or the 8x5 birch shell?
They will try to consider/study this but for now, they're consolidating ideas and suggestions from you (Drummers Gwapitos Filipinos) :-D
Thank you sir pmack  :-)

I dream of having a yamaha jimmy chamberlin signature snare -- sarap ng tunog nito. napakaversatile. (ginamit din pala ni chad smith sa chickentfoot :-) )

Yung iba pang signature snare -- antog fig, roy haynes, steve jordan.

Ang ganda ng tunog kaya lang hindi ko mabili kasi hindi abot ng funds/budget ko ngayon :-)

Mike Bordin sig snare din.
unusual snare.

and the Anton Fig snare.
similar ito sa maple snare ni Steve Jordan.

the question is how much will everything be priced?! is it going to be as drummer friendly as pearl signatures or is it going to take a years worth of saving up just to buy one??

yamaha signature snares are expensive to begin with.
so i'm guessing maybe the latter.
but i'm hoping sana hindi.

yup. one of the reasons why I still can't buy a jimmy chamberlin sig snare up to now :-) $429 convert sa pesos eh lagpas 20k na. Plus tax and customs pa, baka umabot pa ng 30k.

kapag naging mas mura sa pinas un compared sa US (ala pearl demon drive na mas mura sa pinas kaysa sa US), baka maraming bumili.

Yamahas may be a bit pricey compared to other locally available brands, but across the board, among same quality-level brands, Yamahas are actually reasonably priced.  Just my personal opinion, Yamahas still make some of the best, if not the best and most flexible sounding drums and snares.  That's from their low-end to their high-end models.

Sana mag-pasok din ng snare accessories like wooden hoops (6-hole) para di na ako kailangan mag-order abroad.  :-D
