PASMA...is there such a thing?

pag nagbasa ako agad ng kamay after magtrabaho, parang nagiging stiff yung mga daliri ko na parang di mo maigalaw.  After a few days, normal na uli.  Kaya after playing or doing intensive work with your hands, mainam na ipahinga mo muna.  In my own opinion, ang theory ko dyan, pag nagtrabaho kamay mo, your hands will heat up, pati na rin yung mga ugat sa kamay mo so they will expand.  Pag bigla mo hinugasan, lalamigin at mgcocontract yung mga ugat mo, kaya siguro parang nagiging stiff mga daliri kasi hindi masyado nakakaflow yung dugo.  Its better to have your hands some rest before washing it.

ano mga tips na pwede nyo ishare sa mga pasmadong drummers katulad ko? hindi lang pasmado ang kamay. pati na tuhod at kamay. hehe. kahit pasmado ako bihira lang naman ako maka hulog ng stick sa awa ng diyos. hehe :-D

Drumming is a very physical activity.  So in general, it's always wise to take great care of our health and body.  Eat right.  Get enough sleep.  Exercise.  Do not abuse your body.  Take good care of yourself.  When the mind and body is in good shape, it's easier to play drums, allowing us to become more effective with expressing ourselves.

Just like what most folks say...  Kapag pagod, huwag maghugas kaagad or huwag basain ang mga kamay.  After hard work, give your hands some rest first.  I think that should also apply to the rest of our body.

But I noticed that pro athletes, such as NBA players, apply ice packs immediately after a long game.  I think it has something to do with muscle conditioning.  I hope there's a physical therapist online who can further enlighten us about this pasma myth.

sir drumster icepack ba gamit nila? ang pagkakaalam ko warm compress ginagawa nila to condition the muscles?

yun nga lang lalo na kapag long play yung mga kamay natin sa pag dadrums, dapat hindi muna talaga mag basa ng mga kamay.. and i suggest massage your hands with efficasent after drumming to release stress sa muscles...

ntawa ako dun ah! what i usually do is put sa small towel on my tighs pra when my hands are sweating..mdali lng ipunas! or try ka bgo brand ng sticks! IMO, ziljians sticks tend to be more sleepery...now im using VF's! try mo din lazer! mura lng di din masyado madulas!

ako pasmado yung kanang paa ko at dalawang kamay.  :|
kaya pag mahina na yung palo ko tapos mabagal parang ang dami minsan nagagawa nung right leg ko. parang imbis na tug.....tug.....tak nagiging tututug.....tutug......tak.

sa mga braso ko naman wala naman silang problema sa pag palo yun nga lang pag tinignan mo nanginginig pero minsan ok naman. hahaha :-D

Pero wala naman na ako problem pag normal na ang tempo and hindi na ganun kahina ang pagpalo. Naobserbahan ko lang minsan nung sinubukan ko gumawa ng mahinang mabagal na beat

I've seen some pics and watched videos of NBA players cooling down in a tub full of ice after a game.

Dipende siguro sa situation.  Ma-research nga ito...

nag babasketbol naman ako minsan. pero pasmado talaga ako bata pa ako hangang ngayon. nasanay na lang cguro ako. hehe

di ko sure kung totoo ito pero madalas ko ito marinig eh.
kung pasmado kamay mo, pag namamawis, ilubog mo sa maligamgam na tubig.
do this everytime namamawis yung palad mo.
di ko pa na-try ito so try at your own risk.

warm compress is for dilating the veins for better blood circulation. cold compress is done to reduce inflammation and pain.
copper and magnet bracelets works. bagay sa mga pasmado. :-D

anyways,, mas better siguro kung lagi mo imamassage kamay mo or ipapamassage with efficasent oil.. para mag circulate yung blood maigi and to relax the muscle.. tingin ko kapag lagi ginagawa ito.. mawawala ang pasma....
