Guys, I was thinking of like making a DIY pero trying to change the IC. Like, for Tubescreamer clone, I'll be using LM833 and for crunchbox clone JRC4558 naman. Pwede rin ba yung TL072? Would that be possible? Sino naka try? Ano kaya yung tone output?

Pwede yan same pinout configuration lang naman.socket mo lang kasi iba iba sound with each IC type.Mostly TS 4558 and Crunchbox 833 but it's all up to you kung magustohan mo sound.

Just wanna try it out for curiosity. JRC4558 is more feasible here in our locality eh. Ala akong mahanap ng LM833. Pero I wanna give it a try. IC socket lang para mapapalitan ko lang agad yung IC if ever ayaw ko yung tunog. Hahahah..

Agree again. Mas madali pati magpalit-palit ng IC pag naka-socket. Just make sure na powered down ang device bago mo bunutin ang IC. Get an IC puller, or, dahan-dahanin ang pag-bunot ng IC. Baka sa daliri mo tumusok ang pins ng IC  ilang beses na nang yari sakin yan. Tapos, once na satisfied ka na sa IC, i-hot glue mo na lang in place para di accidentally na mabunot ang IC.

Agree uli. There are at least three different 4558 flavors that I am familiar with. The NJR JRC4558, the TI RC4558, the Fairchild KA4558. The NJR JRC4558 is the one I see most commonly used in a TS circuit. It's ok but I like the Texas Instruments RC4558 in the TS. Forget about the Fairchild KA4558, merong mala-latang sound. Try an NE5532. Since yung Crunchbox is essentially a Guv'nor with an overly simplified tone control, try a TL072 or an LF353. Then, let your ears be the judge.

Whew. Ang dami kong natutunan. I don't actually know anong klaseng 4558 itong nabili ko.

Yesterday, I was trying to print out a pcb layout sa photopaper. It was an epic fail. The print didn't stick on the PCB. What's worse was that, I didn't invert the color of the pcb layout. The black should be white and the white should be black. 

I printed it on an 8R photo paper used sa Picture City Studio. I don't know if it's the kind of photopaper issue why it didn't stick on the pcb or maybe it's all about me. Nawalan ako ng gana sandali...

Now, I want to try out din yung making a external presence knob for joyo crunchbox. Pano yung pinout ba ng regular potentiometer compared sa pinout ng trimpot?

Guys, pwede bang maging replacement ang TL072 sa TL071? Sa layout kasi, TL071 yung required but I only have TL072. This will be my pioneering build kasi making a crunchbox is quite difficult for a first time DIYer.

Nope bro. TL071 is a single opamp while TL072 is dual.

If your making a crunchbox it should be dual opamp depende sa deaign ng PCB mo kung pang dual or dalawang single op amp sa iisang board... Mas mainam maipakit mo dito yung gagamiting mong layout PCB matulungan ka namin dito

Kung MXR micro amp that should be single op amp. Eto na lang kung gagamitin mo na layout eh sa tonepad it should be TL071. ang magiging problema mo kasi jan yung ping configuration. So hindi puwede. Youll be needing to modify the tonepad board para gumana. You can search the datasheets for pin outs. Its very basic so madaling maiintindihan. Now kung bibili ka naman sa raon madami around 15-40php ang TL071. or other sub na single op amp.

help naman po mga sir,
may pedal akong nabili ko for 500, DOD Equalizer pedal po sya, kso, pag sinasaksak ko, umiilaw lang siya, pero pag mjo nilakasan mo yung volume ng amp, madidinig mo na may tunog pero napakahina talaga, then naisip ko baka hindi sira, pero tinry ko timplahin, wala, ganon padin yung tunog, ano po kaya problema ng pedal na ito?
