Whats the best place?
« Reply #1331 on: January 25, 2009, 08:12:57 AM »
I'm planning to have my strat neck refretted and I also wanna round that flat 12 radius board. So ginagawa ba talaga yun? Iibahin ung radius.

Concerns:
Pano na ung Bone nut pag iba na ung radius? Iba pang job ung new nut...magkano at san best?

San nakakabili ng branded fretwires?

Thanks

I have Arie Hipolito (Guitar Hospital) refret my guitars, he does a great job!  Very clean!  I sent him my beloved ten year old Taylor 512 and it sounds and plays great!  Not too sure about your radius change, but maybe since you want a smaller radius, you should buy a new neck with the radius that you need already carved?  Eric Johnson has a clever tech refret his vintage strats (7 inch radius necks) with frets set at a 12 inch Radius, without touching the fretboard!  so i guess the frets' ends are farther from the board than the middle parts of the frets.  That way he gets to keep his axe vintage, but gets the playability of a modern instrument.  Good luck! :-D

kung mabigat na tugtugan chief, kelangan high output & noiseless pups ang kunin mo, most of the guitarist, prefer active pups kung linis/tamihik at high output ang paguusapan lalo na on stage performing live, though yung iba naman, masprefer din ang warmness & beefiness ng passive... if you cant afford EMGs, then go for passive dimarzios (x2n, d-acts, disto or any f-spaced) or seymour duncans (sh-13 dime, sh-8 invader, etc) pups!... hindi nagkakalayo sa output ng active pups & without the hassle of battery... tapos konting tweek nalang sa efx... ako kc more middish ang settings ko para may crunch at kagat lalo na playing live... hope this helps...
