Ayos lang. Not the best but it works ok live.
For me, the "amp/drive" patches that work really well for me are:
1. JCM800 Simulation
- Let me share a little here. This can go from a bit clean, bluesy dirt, to heavy (with booster or analog overdrives/distos before it).
I use analog comp and analog overdrives/distos to dirty up the patch (without booster or comp on g2). With the gain at 10 it's clean but can dirty up depending on your guitar volume and picking technique. Fun. Gain at 20+ can still get clean but works really well with analog peds. Fun fun. This is my favorite simulation. With my analog peds, I use this drive on all the patches I use with varying gain levels from 10+ to as high as 60+.
2. JCM2000 Sim.
- Marshall eh. This can stand on its own without analogs before it (but with booster and comp). Before I got analog peds I used this sim 90% of the time for od. You don't need to crank the gain so much to get power. Medyo scooped yung mids niya pag flat yung eq compared to the Boogie Drive. Medyo lang.
3. Mesa Boogie Sim.
- Compared to the JCM2000 sim this has more mid, more body and better for palm-muting, "chugchug" stuff. I use it for more heavier stuff. Doesn't need comp or boost (a little boost would be nice). You also don't need so much gain.
4. JCM120 Sim.
- I love this one. Best for clean and can take analogs overdrives/distortions before it well on amp simulation. My second favorite.
5. Vox Sim.
- I was deciding on the Peavey Drive or this one. This one is for clean stuff exclusively. Very sharp with the tone flat so be careful on Wah peds.
I'm not so much of a fuzz, chorus, or flanger user. I love the delays and reverbs though. Tap delay is fun.
I use eq after the g2.1u with all my patches on amp sim. I like it like that these days.
So.
What are your favorite amp/drive simulations?
