guitar pronunciation101
« on: September 11, 2009, 09:58:14 PM »
baka sir natanong na to paki delete na lang po if ever,,

couple of questions lang po with some pronounciations Siguro na encounter nyo na din yung ganito

how do you pronounce TAKAMINE : ta-ka-mayn
                                                 ta-ka-mi-nee
                                                  ta-ka-mi-ne
may mga kakilala ko pronounce it as ta-ka-mayn
pero is it like ta-ka-mi-ne? sort of japanese?

what about LES PAUL : LEY PAUL
                                  LE PAUL
                                   LESS PAUL

IBANEZ : i-ban-yes
              ay-ban-neez

what about LES PAUL : LEY PAUL
                                  LE PAUL
                                   LESS PAUL

IBANEZ : i-ban-yes
              ay-ban-neez

Les Paul is pronounced as LESS POL. Why? Lester William Polsfuss.

I *think* Ibanez is pronounced as AY-BAN-NEZ and not I-BAN-YEZ. Why? Spelling nya ay Ibanez, NOT Ibañez.

parang yung Squier=Squire thread. hehe. basta Les Paul is LESS POL. it's the man himself. Takamine, afaik, is TAKA-MEE-NEE. Ibanez is AY-BA-NEZ.

"Ley Paul" as in Leyter Polsfuss?

"Lester William Polsfuss, known as Les Paul (June 9, 1915 – August 13, 2009) was an American innovator, inventor, musician and songwriter."

I don't see french anywhere.

The name Ibanez actually originated from a Spanish guitar maker, so as a matter of detail, either the Hispanic I-BA-NYEZ or the Anglicized AY-BA-NEZ should do. :)
