Commercial bass traps vs. DIY bass traps
« on: October 29, 2006, 12:41:12 AM »
Hey people, I just wonder if there are any advantages of DIY'ing bass traps.  First off, most DIYers think they can save money with DIY'ing, but truth is, making DIY bass traps is not cheap to begin with.  Rockwool alone is expensive.  Even plyood is expensive.  Now if you want to make your bass traps so fancy you might wanna add fiberglass and canvass on the face as a diffuser at the same time.  And also, tuning bass traps is not easy.

I just wonder if I would have to buy commercially-made ones (are they available to begin with?) or build my own.  I can ask my karpintero to do the wood frames for me...
