Here's some insight into something similar para maglaway na at ituloy na to:
1997(-98?) nagsponsor ang AMP (ateneo musicians pool) sa ateneo ng clinic for newbies and intermediate musicians. Astig to say the least. (First time ko narinig freestyle analog ng sandwich live - debut yata nung song for any audience...its so raw) anyway I'm digressing, but the AMP camp is a one day event where the great pinoy musician's give a free clinic to newbies (like me nun).
Perf (i doubt if he remembers) taught me some blues licks. He was pleasantly surprised I can do some bend while holding another note... though he suggested some adjustments on the way I bend strings (I used to bend without my index finger as 'capo' at the back of the note). IMproved my playing so much - you dont see that on dvds hehehe
One thing i always remember him teaching me is to 'hum it inside my head before I hit the notes'. simple pero just a little sharing goes a long long way. I even learned simple riffs and pick attacks from fellow guitarists (sobrang bago sakin un dati!)
ngayon puro Gas na ako hehehe coz i learned alot not just from professionals but also from others like me after we discussed our shared difficulties...no other clinic taught me more in so short a time. so ano pa?
