Title: November 2006 Haze EB's - Nov 6 and 28

Well...notwithstanding our MegaJam (will be meeting with some people to get it together tom) , we still have our two days with Purple Haze. Here they are.

November 6 and 28. Yep. 28 is a Tuesday. Which by the way, I don't know if that's better than Mondays but there it is. I guess we can fool around with the ideas what to do with them. Maybe the 28th is a better "open jam" day as it's harder to recruit Jammers rather than whole bands. This way too, guys who want in will have more than a month to sharpen their chops. I think that's a logical line of reasoning don't ya think so guys ?

So...November 6 is an all-band day.

There is a port on the mixer where we can tap. We tried it before, but since I didnt have a headphone monitor, I couldnt tell if we were getting right levels. And as expected, the mic was too loud and the instruments too far back. Sayang.

When I finish my mobile recording setup, or maybe if we can put the mixer input to yours, we'll get an "albumable" output.

Aha! I nominate you to be the "crowds ears as a guide to the bands" for the evening ;) really, your inputs on stage sound are remarkable, maybe we can have you seated near center, then you can hand out the yellow card to the loudest band member? Seriously.

I'm nuts about sound quality and band volume, and I believe that we should all set a standard for many to follow. the "junior jam" days/ early 90's "bandwagon explosion" are long dead. just as BAMF is spearheading a hi-tonal quality local effects revolution, it would be fitting to set things up in the spirit of that.

this forum can be the father of pro-level audio for the common man ;)

(sorry for the soliloquay... btw, how are your spanking new emg's ;) )

hehehe. i'm not an authority ah, hehe. you guys do your thing, i'll try to do mine, hehe. well last gig kasi i was seated dead center eh, hehe. at the very rear of the venue, with rogel and dan, hehe. oh well, let's see, hehe. i'll try to be there early so as to be able to monitor the levels, haha.

anyway, i haven't installed the EMG's eh, i'm excited though, i just don't want to touch 'em coz i might just ruin a perfectly cheap set of good pickups, hehe. pero i talked to "the man" or "the boss" already, we worked out a package deal with him making a new pickguard, hehe. so i'll probably pass by next week, hehe. i'm excited as to the outcome of this "project" tele, hehe.

hey everyone, sorry and sad to say we cant play there. kasi yung drummer namin hindi pala pwd every monday, kasi late uwi nya at maaga naman yung pasok nya kinabukasan. so ayun. yung uyayi icacancel namin. sorry for the hassle. thanks :) :) :) eto ulit yung lineup. sa mga gusto i-copy paste nlang pra makasama kayo sa lineup, ayon kay sir BAMF :) thanks!

Hi BAMF,

just a suggestion.... baka pwede cut-down to 3 songs per band? Last time parang ang haba na masyado ng oras per band... or maybe 30 mins. tops per band, including setup...

This is of course strictly point of view and opinion of the audience. I am certain that if I were to play, I'd want to play longer than 4 songs, pero let's strike a balance.

Maybe this way the bands will play real songs, and there may be time left over after the last band finishes playing for the jams.

Well, I dunno how to put it, but if you have multiple extended solos in every song, ubos na ang oras nun. Sa 30 mins per band times 10 bands, that's already 5 frigging hours!!! Ang sakit na ng tumbong ko after the 3rd hour eh. :oops: sorry. ...

I don't mean to offend anyone with the suggested limitations, pero I'd love to hear more of the bands and their original material. And a couple of 5 min. original songs would be preferable (IMO) to extended solos. Meron naman jam time afterward or sa next session di ba?...

Will try to pass by around 9ish, but i seriously doubt jibbo will be hitting the stage, we haven't rehearsed, nor do i think we'd rehash our previous set-list. I think "jibbo" is a martian word for "polished performance bordering on obsessive compulsion fed by sponteneity" ;) heheheheheh! will try to jam if energy permits, I'd be happy being a spectator though as I haven't had time to thoroughly shag my axe... :-D

hey bro, i had to show up by hook or by crook in reverence to the occasion, but left at midnight. damn, woke up with 5 mins to spare to go to work! i actually wasn't planning to jam, just wanted to hang out and burn some steam, but sonny ray's nice prs se and elmo's sweet strat got my sonic hormones going. bitoy was sick, and deacon out of town.

oh...DOMINANT CHORD!

we have to experience the Maria Ozawa experience next time ;)

Oh, of course, the whole night was a blast! I wish I could've stayed longer, would've been great if sonny ray stayed too, but we had wood to chop, sadly :(

my comment on the whole evening: the bands are awesome!

i commented to BAMF that the bands nowadays are light years ahead of the the bands that came out during the early 90's music boom. all of the bands I got to see, were tight, had great personality, and were musically distinctive. plus, guitar tones were good, I'm glad that the "bangaw"/"junior jam buzzsaw" tone is close to extinct!

Leave it to BAMFX to totally eradicate the awful fizz ;)

Hello again sa lahat.

I had to stay on so that I can savor the moments I spent with my friends Jobet, Anton, Peewee(Kulas), newfound friend Sonny Ray vaughn (fresh from amsterdam; nice PRS u got there bro!!!) and perhaps a reunion of sorts with vinz and karl (hamsterjamster) plus the the Mahasa drummer whom I forgot the name but cannot forget the groove he provided us that night. The Jibbo jazz section was startling...I didnt know I could play jazz ..thanks to anton again for the new learning experience.

Karl's band really kicked ass that night...more of your band soon. Nice guitar tone Karl...sarap mo tumunog pare...ang linis...

The funky set of Tribute to Pluto....rendered me...speechless..vinz' groove really kicks in everytime he plays his bass

Its been quite a while since I last played a francism tune. The guys I jammed with that night really made it justifiably sweet. haay, I miss playing with my band Edge of Zion. Kaya lng wala na sila as of now ...

Talbot's band...ung mga probinsyano daw...astig na tugtugan pare...keepin the Filipino music alive..keep it up..

Ton..ung Maria Ozawa experince...as promised, sa susunod...dalhin ko na....

nice jam as usual, sayang lang hindi ko naabutan yung iba since late ako. oh well, eto lang comments ko...

tiny cactus: one hell of a band! this band is tight! yung live nila na tugtog tunog recording, hehe. ganda ng balance ng levels nila, malupit and steady yung drummer, groovy yung bassist, maganda ang mga linya ni hamsterjamster, bagay na bagay sa tugtugan, and the vocals and blending pasok na pasok. gotta watch out for this band.

tribute to pluto: another tight band! malupit din drummer! at shempre si vinz, talaga namang groove is in the house pag anjan yan. malupit din gitarista nyo pre, di ko lang alam name nya. pero ayos. yung vox nyo eh panalo rin, although mahina boses nya, pero sa pandinig ko eh ayos naman. first time ko marinig na may nag-cover ng deep inside, hehe. panalo kayo! mabuhay ang banda mo vinz! buti na lang naka-jam ko kayo nung huli, hehe.

si sonnyray eh dumayo pa ng maynila, hindi ko naman narinig mag-jam! bago pa pala gitara mo, hehe. kitakits ulit next time!

shempre pa, mga the usual, sila elmo, anton, caren, etc. ganda talaga ng tunog ng strat mo elmo! pero ngayon lang yata na-experience ni caren ang the strat challenge, hehe. pero bilib pa rin ako sa kanya for being able to shred a high action, fat necked strat. hindi ko pa rin kaya yung ginagawa nya, hehe.

galing! galing talaga! wala akong masabi. BAMF! post mo na yung bootleg mo! hehe.

I looked up Ron Jeremy for myself last night. Gawd...I had to rub my eyes over and over. At a distance of about 2-3 feet from the monitor, his picture could pass off as MY picture ! Gawd !

Normally the bands go first, then we open the stage for open jammers. Bahala na po kayo till 2 am.

So registered jammers, pag-usapan nyo na pow ang repertoire nyo or if you will just set a chord pattern and jam to it.

saya ng blues ng bluemenstreet. nice tunes from roxy. good rockn' songs from edge. nice groove from a tribute to pluto, hebigat.

thanks sir bamf for these sessions. :) and also to sir kit for the recording setup. nakuha ko na rin yung mga naiwan ko from the last eb hehe.

sayang di ko na inabutan yung sumunod pang bands. had to go home kasi nilalagnat na ako. sa susunod ulit.
