His death was confirmed by his wife, Gail Gygax, who said he had been ailing and had recently suffered an abdominal aneurysm, The Associated Press reported.

I don't play DnD.  But my brother does.  I swear, he's almost into tears when he learned Gary Gygax passed away.

I think his pioneering work in gaming is very significant, though.   :-)
