Hi guys, years and years have past, I never had to purchase my own external hard disk due to the fact that former companies I've worked for always provided me with one. now that is not the case, I need to buy my own personal 1 TB hard disk for personal usage.
Can you guys give me some brands in the 4k below range (I know I'm a cheapass lol) that would be suitable to store files, movies, installers those sort of stuff. Potentially I might be using it to watch movies stored in it (tamad lang mag copy paste sa local pc haha) as well so I don't know if that could be an issue. Apart from that I think that is the only heavy usage I can think of now.
I have never been comfortable storing important data such as pictures and personal documents in external hard drives kasi nangyare sa isa kong kaibigan is na wipe out ung data nya sa external drive nya dahil pumalpak thus the need for advise for best external HDD. Thanks in advance mga kapatid :)
btw: my options are:
- western digital
- Toshiba

anong brand ba usually sir yung inissue sayo ng company? yung subok mo na...
-in my case, i would choose toshiba, yung payat mura kasi dito hehe. 269aed ung 1TB :D

laging WD eh (western digital). Would answer my own question pero i think yes, matibay nga sya and never naman ako ng ka issue. nag kaissue lang ako sa WD sa case nya nung hindi na mabasa ng USB kaya kinalas ko para ma connect sa sata cable pa puntang board.
need ko lang ng ibang brands/options baka may mas ok pa sa usual na nagagamit ko. dati kasi libre kaya tanggap lang ng tanggap hahaha

Seagate and HP yung gamit ko ngayon. Pero hindi USB powered (may external power source). Yung 2TB kasing seagate, kapresyo lang ng 1TB na USB powered, he he he. Pero Seagate is a good option in my experience.

Di naman. Pero it's up to you, ako kasi mostly sa bahay ko gamit eh. Mas malaki pa yung mga Zoom B2 na units.

Yung HP na external powered 1TB HDD ko, nung binuksan ko yung loob, WD Caviar Green yung laman. Ginawa ko nalang syang internal HDD nung hindi ko na need ng portable HDD.lol

Western Digital user here for years, never nagkaproblema. Even use my WD elements for watching movies sa TV for 4 years na.
