morley wah pedal mod
« on: March 28, 2006, 02:58:19 AM »
hey guys..i have a morley wah PWA model. it's great for clean tones, but i can't seem to find a way to make it cut through decently through my distortion. maski rin sa clean, pansin ko lang, ang limited ng range. pero yun nga, kahit limited yung range, maganda yung tunog ng wah niya. swabe lang. may alam ba kayong mod/remedies for this? mod ba tlga ang kelangan (if ever man meron) or sa EQ ba gagalawin? as you can see, baguhan lang talaga ako sa mga wah.. ahehe.. ayun lang. salamat in advance :)

what's your setup?

moreover, where is your wah in the chain, and have you considered putting it somewhere else? some stick it before distortion, some use it after. some use compression, some don't..

you can try emailing bill wenzloff at the morley website. he answers rather promptly. :) he should know because he's the guy who fixes the stuff that gets sent in for repairs. doesn't matter if you got your pedal second hand.

yeah.. i've read about that guy.. nasa harmony central reviews sya mismo. hehe. :) anyway, i'll try to contact him na lang. i hope maayos talaga yung range :)

anyway, my setup goes:

guitar>wah>od2>gdi21>gt2>ce5>rv3>amp

well, i haven't tried experimenting it in the chain. try ko na lang after the preamps, bka nga mag cut thru pa sya dun. :)

thanks for the reply sir!

if it doesnt mind to be put after buffers you can experiment by putting it after your ce5 ( which i think has a buffered input/output) and before the RV3. I dont know how you use the gdi21 & gt2 or it will affect it so you can also try it before the preamp after your OD2 which i think you are using as a booster...

orig setup :

guitar>wah>od2>gdi21>gt2>ce5>rv3>amp

experiment like this :

guitar>wah>od2>gdi21>gt2>ce5>WAH>rv3>amp

or like this

guitar>wah>od2>WAH>gdi21>gt2>ce5>rv3>amp

doesnt hurt if you try

Trial and error lang.
