Resident Evil 5 on PC!
« on: September 17, 2009, 09:19:09 PM »

Was released for the PC last September 15. I immediately got myself a copy. I'm only in chapter 1-3 and I'm enjoying it immensely!

It's a GREAT port. Very natural keyboard/sound support, surround sound, reasonable graphics scaling. Nice job, Capcom!

Your vidcard needs to support Pixel Shader 3.0. That means Geforce 6xxx series or Radeon X1xxx series. But according to the readme, the minimum is a Geforce 6800. I suppose that's their estimation of minimum playable.

As for Proccie and RAM, anything within the last 3 years will work. Pentium D's are the minimum requirement, and around 1gig of RAM.

sir tanong lang. nakapanood ako ng gameplay ng RE5. pagnamamatay ung mga zombie e parang weird ang nangyayari. ganun ba talaga yun? or is it a setting lang na pwede naiiwan ung mga bodies? it feels kinda weird lang talaga.

Yung icky bubbles? Yep, common yun sa lahat ng zombies. If they're really dead (again), they'll disintegrate into the earth (or floor) in a puddle of icky bubbles. The purpose for this is to remove them from the battle, cause the zombie count here is greater than any prior Res Evil. Framerate issues siguro.

Ahh, also.. those who fall and stay prone are still alive, and can be "special meele'd" through a button prompt.

It's a bit linear for an RE, but yeah, the graphics are awesome! Some gaming message boards say that RE5 is currently next-best to Crysis in terms of graphics. Also, provided you have a beefy graphics card, the PC Version has the best-looking textures!

I own the console version(XBOX 360) and I must say... Gusto ko ring bumili ng PC version!!!.

Although hindi ako aprub sa pirata.

Share ko lang... magandang pang hunt ng boss sa Mercenaries yung S.T.A.R.S version ni Chris at maganda naman yung B.S.A.A Jill sa mga Majinis(not Zombie nor Ganado... BOOM, HEADSHOT!!). Tribal Sheva, FTW!

Agree! BSAA Jill for the win! Dang that Handgun is crazy.

Haven't unlocked Tribal She yet. Yan daw yung naka-bow? Just finished the game eh, so kakastart lang sa Mercenaries. :-D

Px4 Handgun!!

I think you need to get an A Rank on the Missle Area to unlock Tribal Sheva.

If I remember correctly,
Sheva(Tribal)
Longbow(infinite ammo), Grenade Launcher(Nitrogen Rounds), 5x Incendiary Grenades, 5x Flash Grenades, First Aid Spray.

Honestly, ang naa-unlock ko pa lang eh Chris(BSAA, Safari, STARS), Sheva(BSAA), Jill(BSAA), Wesker(Midnight).

Kung paano:
1. Chris (BSAA) at Sheva (BSAA), unlocked by default.
2. Chris (Safari): Rank A, Village
3. Chris (STARS): Rank A, Experimental Facility
4. Jill (BSAA): Rank A, Public Assembly
5. Wesker (Midnight): Rank A, Mines

Ang pinaka ayaw kong stage is Mines.... you've guessed it... Reapers.

Thanks sa info, saves me the trouble of finding a FAQ. :-D

I enjoy running through the Mines level as BSAA Jill, pero you're right. Those Reaps are a pain in the tush! 1-hit impale attack at green life?? Geez.

Sa records ko... hindi ko ikakahiya, most deaths ko, galing sa Reapers.

Sa xbox360 pa lang, nahihirapan na ko sa 3 reapers... sa No Mercy(PC) pa kaya.

Well... ang latest yata eh magkakaron ng RE5:AE(Alternate Edition a.k.a Director's Cut).

I have a Logi Rumblepad, pero wala, keyboard+mouse support is awesome in this game. It also makes No Mercy pretty manageable, since there's enough enemies to make easy combo chains... kaso the N.M. rankings are very unforgiving. I get C's kahit may 70 combo chain with 2 bosses in the mix.

Alternate Edition? Ano kayang bago?
"Separate Ways" scenario of Jill Valentine PLEASE! Just add that feature, and I'll be sold! Again! :-D

Haha... parehas tayo ng iniisip. Separate Ways will do. Although here's a video of Jill and Chris as part of RE5:AE's promotion. (Note: it used Moonlight Sonata as background music which is also a reference to RE1. I love it).

Yep! It plays just like an FPS. Ganun kaganda yung mouse support. Plus the PC version includes hotkeys (1-9) which I believe isn't in the console versions.

Yep, mouse ang gagamitin sa pag-aim.

Anyway, na-unlock ko na yung Tribal Costume ni Sheva sa Mercenaries. Walang kahirap-hirap.

1. Mag stockpile ng Nitrogen Rounds.
2. Mag-ipon ng majini.
3. Use Grenade Launcher (NIT)
4. Kick galore!!

HOLY MAJINI. YES!! Please don't forget the PC release, Capcom!

Jun Takeuchi and Miho Suzuki on Biohazard 5 Alternative Edition: (from BioHaze)

- Capcom came up with the name "Alternative Edition" because the term "Complete Edition" didn't seem appropriate when considering the adequacy of the original package.

- Capcom wanted to place the new content in the original release, but felt that the game was adequate already, and wanted to get it released soon.

- When the original game was released, players expressed their desire to play as Jill. (Like me!)

- Capcom originally proposed to make the new content downloadable, but there was too much content for that.

- The game begins at the entrance of the Spencer Mansion featured in the flashback of the original game, but fans of the original Biohazard will certainly love the new content. (WIN!)

- The Spencer mansions in Biohazard and Biohazard 5 are indeed separate.

- All the DLC content for the original release can be enjoyed on the Biohazard 5 Alternative Edition disc. Players can play with or against players of the original Biohazard 5.

- Owners of the original can transfer their game saves, trophies, etc. to Alternative Edition.

- Capcom is thinking about adding new costumes and game modes as well.

- The blood in the main hall of the mansion symbolizes that an incident has occurred, and gamers will understand as soon as they step in what that incident was.

- The original Biohazard was a game that did not have a cooperative aspect to it, though Biohazard 5 Alternative Edition will have it in spite of their similar environments.

- The behind-the-shoulder camera will be used, although if you noticed from the screenshots, there are no enemies present…

- When asked whether the enemies with be majinis or zombies, with regards to this chapter, Capcom is making preparations for the type of enemies to be included, especially since the setting is Spencer's mansion, with him actually living there.

- Capcom believes the game will have the types of rooms and locations fans are expecting.

- Takeuchi finished just Jill's episode in 1 hour and 40 minutes, but that is because he is an experienced player. New players should take around 2 hours the first time. Of course, this isn't the only new content being included…

- Capcom understands that there are varying tastes for the Biohazard series up to this point.

- Capcom is preparing the Xbox 360 version in a different form, and asks gamers to wait for more information on that in the future.

Hmm... lemme guess... Capcom Unity Forum, right?

Here are the rest of the scans for RE5:AE

At least, we get to see Chris smile... Most of the time, he's a dead man walking. Although you can get his alternate Idle Animations the same way you got Sheva's.
