why can't i log in again after i change my profile??? username is the same and the password is the same. i just change the my email add. and now i received a msg. like this:
You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password.
it says that i should contact the admin but how would i contact them if i can log-in???

Hndi ako maka log-in. I tried using my username and password pero in-active na daw. I tried signing up on another username. Pero, ayaw acknowledge ng server ang application ko. Kasi, i'm using the same e-mail i used on my in-active account.
Paano ko ma re-activate ang account ko? Thank you very much!

I am having a hard time connecting our beloved forum. I have been using 4 pcs in two different location if I ever have the chance to browse so I am quite sure its not my DSL provider.
Are you guys experiencing this also?

Oh that explains why. Lalo na pag peak hours. yung tipong Patapos na ang trabaho then umaatake na ang GAS. hehehe. Buti most of the time I work graveyard shifts, dami ko nga napapansin na Vampires dito eh. hehe mga GASomniacs

ako pag log in ko ng 10pm sa opisina. expected ko down ang site... tapos siguro after mga 15mins ok na.. mauulit yun within the 8hour shift ko.

In Internet Explorer:
a Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > Advanced
Make sure that first-party cookies is set on "Accept." I think third-party cookies should also be on "Accept," too.
In Firefox, enter about:config in your browser
The cookie settings should appear there

This is what pops out after I try to comment about your articles. It happened before on the JDLC article and it's happening again on the Arnel Pineda story.
Am I doing something wrong? Of course i"m logged in.

Try logging out & logging in again on the same page of the article (there should be a login button on the upper right). Tell me if that doesn't work.

Yeah that happens sometimes, I sometimes can't comment on the article I wrote myself :-) So I log off and log in. Not sure where the problem lies, in the content management system or the commenting system. Or just the usual ghost in the machine.

I made daya the code. It is supposed to work kasi within MAIN, which I disabled, because I want to retain the talk.philmusic.com URL. So that's the trade off.
I could probably fix later on. In the meantime, I placed some instructions in the comment text.

I was just going to comment on the Arnel Pineda article. Whatever inconsistencies you may have written in the article is immaterial. The main point of the story was that Arnel did try out and Arnel was really receiving flak from certain Journey website forums.
No matter how much all of us argue, the facts still remain that Arnel DID audition and Arnel WAS receiving hate email.

What is your ISP? Sometimes, the problem is with them when their DNS server goes down.

Hmmm looks like traffic is way up. We already transferred to a new server with more memory, but are once again hitting the limits. Maybe if some of you stay away performance will improve (haha).
Seriously, will have to look at the traffic stats currently in place versus that of six months ago to see if there is a spike.

Im starting to think that not everyone is affected by the downtime. There was this one time where I couldn't access the site for almost the whole day. Tried it one last time before I went out of work. It loaded and apparently people were online and posting (based on timestamps) the whole time I wasnt able to get on. Weird.

im using sun broadband here at home.. madalas may mga website na hindi makaload at ang sinasabi is "Server Not Found" at ang madalas na site na nagkakaganon eh ang ating mahal na Philmusic.. so I go to nincloak.com at dun ko ino-open ang Philmusic.. voila! :-D
nung una kala ko talaga may problema ang Philmusic.. yunpala yung provider ko lang.. bwiset!

I'm using Globe at home and I can't access there sometimes. No probs also at the office since we have our own provider.
I think Globe users should send them complaints about access to certain sites. From the start, I knew it was a DNS server issue.

same here digitel baguio...kagabi nakapasok naman ako kaso kaninang umaga nung itry ko naman yung computer ng kuya ko hindi naman makapasok..anyway, as long as i'm in the office,. it's cool...pero sana maayos to...feeling ko DNS thing din e..

Just got word from our admin that Globe had problems with their DNS server. It's fixed now since I'm posting from my Globe DSL today, whereas yesterday, all I got was DNS errors.
I merged all similar threads. If you still have problems accessing PM, please post it here.

To Globe and Digitel users, try pinging talk.philmusic.com and see if the connection gets through. In the meantime, try sending your isp provider a complaint regarding access to PM. My access from my Globe broadband was temporary it seems. Couldn't access PM again yesterday afternoon. Time to tweet/buzz Jim again.

I couldn't access PM during the same times as you. Other sites are perfectly accessible, though. I already sent a complaint to Globe. Hope they do something about it, because at home, I spend the most of my surfing time in PM... sayang ang bayad.

hi guys, finally nakahanap din ako na karamay. akala ko ako lang ay may problema ng mahirap pumasok sa philmusic.sa shop ko, for the past few days, everytime i try to enter philmusic's website, laging may lumilitaw about sedo parking. it's redirecting me everytime sa sedo parking. my ISP is digitel. pati sa bahay different lang ang lumilitaw. hindi pa rin ako makapasok. digitel din yung ISP ko sa bahay. pero yung neighbor namin naka wifi sila from SMART BRO, nakakapasok ako sa connection nila since hindi nila nilagyan ng password yung kanila,pag yung sa kanila ang gamit kong connection sa internet, nakakapasok ako sa Philmusic. hope you can help me.it's really been frustrating for me this past few days since i always check the forum on Philmusic. thanks in advance

Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at talk.philmusic.com.
* Check the address for typing errors such as
ww.example.com instead of

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Complained to Globe and they were blaming some connection in Batangas. Could be the location of their server.
Digitel subscribers try complaining to them also.

CAll your ISP. Get their DNS server settings. Globe provided me with three. 1 failed yesterday. Tried the other. Worked. 1 to go for pass/fail. then, rotate. :-D

How many times do i have to do that? I did that already and sent you the attachment with the ping request result days ago. Come on. You guys even told me that you'd send a technician for an onsite checkup. No one ever came. Now that im following it up, you're just gonna ask me to do another stupid ping request. It doesn't help at all. You can do better Globe.
24 hours later. Problem fixed.

After several (polite) exchanges with several of their tech guys (my last email had something like what jmreyes wrote), I can finally access Philmusic from my Globe connection at home. Boo rat.

It's weird with my Globe broadband. I have a router at home and my wired pc can easily access PM while the pc that's wifi'ed will go straight to sedoparking most of the time. Checked my firewalls, cleared my cache and PM cookies to no avail. Definitely a globe problem in my opinion.

Been having exactly the same problems and have actually been lambasting my service provider's (globe) customer service center, which unfortunately didn't help squat in solving my problem despite my pleas over a period of 2 weeks! Yeah, I'm still reeling from anger!!! Anyway I decided to take matters into my own hands and scoured the internet for results. Where else can we find solutions to PC problems? With the PC guys, naturally! This is what I found: http://www.tipidpc.com/viewtopic.php?tid=215387.
Apparently, it's a problem with the dns system (or whatever you call it). Just add the primary dns numbers 8.8.8.8 and alternate dns 8.8.4.4. in the properties box of whichever internet connection you use--wifi or lan located in the network connections icon within the control panel--and voila! Problem solved.
Follow the instructions in the fora provided in the link and everything should be fine. (If you read the thread all the way through, the second suggestion of adding the dns numbers is the one I tried). Of course, nothing is foolproof and you should revert to previous settings if the suggestions don't work for you. But just to make you feel better, I'm no techie and I did fine.

Same here. Globe didnt help me with my complaint at all. Worst customer service ever.
Anyway, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 are Google's public DNS servers. Yes, configuring your network settings to use these numbers will solve the PhilMusic problem.
In Windows XP, do this:
Click Start
Click Settings
Open Control Panel
Open Network Connections
Right click on your connection>Click Properties
Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
Click Properties
Under "Use the following DNS Server Addresses", enter these settings:

Let me rephrase that second paragraph of mine describing the procedure:
Control Panel >>> Network connections >>> Right click on whatever connection you use: lan or wifi then go to >>> Properties

Enter 8.8.8.8 in Preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 in Alternate DNS server. Click OK.

In case the Preferred and Alternate DNS spaces are filled in, make sure to take down these numbers BEFORE replacing them. Cuz if replacing them wont solve your problem, you will have to re-enter them in their respective spaces.
WARNING: THIS MAY CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH YOUR PC. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS IF YOU FEEL YOU CAN'T RECTIFY THE PROBLEM!!!

I have a problem too when accessing PM in our house using globelines, and yes the google public DNS solved my problem for a while, but last night i dont know what happened because i cant access PM again and im still using google's public dns, tried pinging PM and it goes thru no errors occur. Ano kaya problema nito? :-(

Thats weird. Im still on Googles DNS. No problem here.
How many connections do you have under Network Connections? If you have more than one, you might be connecting to PhilMusic using one of the connections not set-up with Google's DNS. You might want to check that out.

Im just using one connection.
Yun nga pinagtatakhan ko sir e, actually 2 hours before nun naaccess ko pa yung PM,
kumain lang saglit at nung nirestart ko na pc wala na di na ako makaaccess.
Try ko uli mamayang gabi pagbalik ko sa bahay, and update ko dito kung ok na uli.

Try registering with opendns if google dns is problematic.

I was able to do a workaround on the "server not found" error when connecting to Philmusic..
kasi almost 2 months na akong hindi nakakakonek sa philmusic unless I use a Proxy website, you see nasanay na akong "http://talk.philmusic.com/board" ang tinatype ko sa address bar para deretcho na sa forum site, one time naaasar ako kasi hindi ako makabrowse sa proxy website na ginagamit ko (too many connections daw) kaya I tried typing directly "www.philmusic.com" then nagulat ako nagconnect ako deretcho.. pero hindi sa main philmusic front page.. but dito na mismo sa forum page so natuwa ako, then napansin ko iba yung URL na nagdisplay sa address bar:
imbes na http://talk.philmusic.com/board/ ang lumabas ito ang nagdisplay: "http://www.philmusic.com/talk/board/"
hmmm so akala ko nagpalit na ng URL yung philmusic.. so nung sumunod na nag philmusic ako yan na yung tinatype ko at nakakapasok na.. hindi na "server not found" -- thats for 3 days only (in my sun broadband connection at home)
nung isang araw (April 21, 2010) hindi nanaman ako makakonek sa philmusic using the new URL.. naging "Server Not Found" nanaman..
pero one thing na natuwa ako is.. dito sa office nakablock ang philmusic.. naka block/filter yung original URL that is.. so whenever I type yung bagong URL.. nakakonek ako dito sa office heheheheh, kaso everytime na papasok ako sa thread eh kailangan ko palitan yung URL to the new one.. or else di ako makakapasok..

I don't know what's wrong with your setups but since I tried changing DNS settings to the ones I posted (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) I've never had problems. I use Globe broadband at home and whatever Wifi I can get outside. Just make sure that you are changing the settings for the network connection you want to use i.e. Local area connection for wired internet, Wireless network connection for wireless (duh!), or Globe broadband prepaid for Tatoo users. A word for Tatoo users: You may have to change the DNS settings (located in Properties then TCP/IP) within the Globe broadband prepaid icon on the Network Connections window but you should also change the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. in the Tatoo program we use to connect/disconnect. This is found in the Tools >> Options >> Profile Management page. Click on "edit" first to be able to change the settings. Then click on Advanced tab at the bottom of the page. On the Advanced window, click Static then change the DNS numbers to the ones above. Remember to save your settings and restart the Tatoo program. Next time you launch Philmusic you should be able to get in. Whew! BTW, there was a bit of trial and error on my part but it worked...

I guess for a lot of us, philmusic has become an obsession. Kaya nawala lang ang connection sandali, parang nagunaw na ang mundo! Ha!

In case the Preferred and Alternate DNS spaces are filled in, make sure to take down these numbers BEFORE replacing them. Cuz if replacing them wont solve your problem, you will have to re-enter them in their respective spaces.

Doesn't matter if you're using a proxy as long as the DNS server you are using is a local one (assigned by your isp provider).

My Globelines broadband connection can, for some time now, connect me to Philmusic without difficulty, and without the use of proxies.
I used to have the same access problems as you guys (always getting directed to Sedoparking, even if using different computers or my phone). I constantly bugged them for more than a month (professionally, I hope), and they even sent a tech guy to visit my home several times to check my computer, change my modem, etc.
However, they fixed my problem by doing something in my area's switch. They sent a lineman (not a tech guy) to repair a switch (or something) that controls my area (i.e., outside of my house, somewhere far). Turns out to be an infrastructure problem.
FWIW, this solution might also solve your problem. Sorry for not suggesting this sooner.

The problem seems to affect one of their WAN IPs. I noticed that if their WAN begins with 120.xxx.xxx.xxx, Philmusic cannot connect whereas if the WAN begins with 18x.xxx.xxx.xxx, Philmusic has no problem.

Ask ko lang kung bakit most of the time hirap ako mag log-in, I am using a "Sun Broadband wireless internet USB stick".
I hope someone here can help me if there is something to do to normalize things up, kasi kung makapag log-in ako once in a month lang.

I was attempting to activate my account all yesterday, and could for the love of god not figure out why my activation emails were disappearing. That is, until I checked my email server's logs:

Good mail servers are typically configured to reject a sender domain that doesn't exist on the real Internet. I'm talking about the MAIL FROM address that is passed in SMTP negotiations, and NOT the (correct) noreply@philmusic.com address in the header of the email itself. On a UNIX-type system, this has to do with the sender address that you pass to sendmail.
You might want to fix this, as I actually had to manually disable the reject_unknown_sender_domain flag in my Postfix configuration file, an option that's not available to your average Internet user on a preconfigured email server. Your forum is the first forum with this problem that I have encountered. Who knows how many user registrations you have missed out on because of this? :-/

I don't know kung may nag-post na nito before. Kung meron na po, paki-merge na lang. Tanong ko lang po, bakit ayaw pong mag-open ng PM sa Globe na DSL? Yun po kasi ang internet connection namin sa house. Hindi tuloy ako makapag-PM kapag nasa house ako. Usually, dito lang po sa work ako nakakapag-PM. Patulong na lang po kung mayroon kayong alam na solution kung paano ko ma-oopen yung PM sa internet connection namin sa bahay. Salamat po.

One more thing I noticed... if the IP Globe assigns you begins with 120.xxx.xxx.xxx, PM won't load at all. Disconnect and reconnect until you get an IP that starts with 180.xxx....

Thanks for the help. Globe always gives me an IP of 192.xxx.x.x everytime I try to obtain an IP address from them. Can I still open the site with this IP, if I'll just change the DNS?

You will only see the correct assigned IP when you query the WAN IP from the modem. Go into your browser and type 192.168.1.1 - it should land you in the modem's browser-based menu screen. There should be some sort of status screen which shows you the actual assigned IP. The IP you're seeing (192.xxx.....) is only the local network assigned IP.

try mo tingnan yung spam folder ng email mo bro. ganyan din kasi nangyari sa akin pagregister ko eh, akala ko wala akong nareceive na confirmation pero pagtingin ko sa spam folder nandun pala.

Long time lurker .. main reason I never posted was due to not being able to access the site when I wanted to!
I'm on a standard Globe 1mb Home DSL line, friends of mine who told me about the site have issues accessing the site consistently too. It looks like a DNS issue (the page that displays is a domains24 which normally shows when a domains has not propagated correctly yet).
I'm currently needing to access the site via a USA proxy server, which is understandably a bit of a pain.
Any ideas or others having the same issue care to post.
P.S. Not being able to search is a major pain :cry:

It IS a DNS issue, but with Globe and not PM. It seems our complaints fall on deaf ears with Globe and their call center is clueless when it comes to DNS issues. Anyone got a contact with their operations?

I use Globe DSL and one of the things I like to do is check the modem status. I've found out that Globe 'assigns' 2 sets of IPs to it's subscribers: one beginning with 18x.xxx.xxx.xxx and the other 12x.xxx.xxx.xxx
It seems that the 18x IP is 'broken' because whenever that is my assigned IP, I can't access PM. My fix is to reboot the modem until I get an IP that begins with 12x. You might be experiencing the same thing. AFAIK, Globe uses the DNS servers of another company located in Batangas.
Until Globe or the DNS server recognizes the fact that something is broken, no one is ever going to fix it.

Think nothing of it. At the very least, Philmusic is not to blame. As a matter of fact, apparently Sun DSL subscribers are (or were) similarly affected. Smart DSL subs aren't affected because they ride on PLDT's network which has it's own DNS server. As for Globe's wireless internet, I'm not sure how they implement their WAN IP.

If the IP address is causing the problem that would point to a possible IP block from the philmusic' server/host and not a DNS issue. As the same DNS server is being used on globe regardless of which IP range you are accessing from.
Out of curiosity, has a different webhost ever been tried for Philmusic (even just overnight temporarily?) I mean I have no idea what kinda hardware is running the boards, is it a dedicated server(seems not) own FW / IP blockers / location / blagh blagh. But "could" it be an issue with the hosting rather than with these ISP's ?
e.g.
If things are working:
Laptop > Router > ISP > DNS > Hosting company > Website
When using the 222.xxx.xxx.xxx or 18x.xxx.xxx.xxx range and NOT working
Laptop > Router > ISP > DNS > Hosting Company > Default hosting company's page.
So would seem that things are getting routed correctly from globe ?
BTW.... a check on the IP address does not even show philmusic as one of the sites using 109.234.109.20. That is from an external source not globe... so it would more strongly point to an issue on the webhosts' side.

Could it just be a case of server overloading perhaps ?
I do know alot of hosting services will block the IP range if there is a large number of requests from S/E asian countries (I used to work in a european ISP)
When on globe, regardless of IP address, its hitting the correct server @ dd24 so would seem the routing would seem to be screwed from the host's side (IP blocked?).

222.xxx.xxx.xxx is also a globe IP thats blocked.

We do not block local addresses. The only IPs being blocked are mostly from known spam locations and these are not local.
Again, if you suspect an IP block, the problem is not internal to Philmusic nor its servers.

Not blaming Philmusic, but I do suspect the problem is not simply Globe (Much as they don't have a clue in their TS) their DNS seems to be pointing at the correct Server regardless of IP range.
The site not being visible issue seems to be happening AFTER hitting the philmusic' server location, which points to something going on AFTER reaching the destinations' internal network.

Do a traceroute and you'll see what I mean.

I had been Trace routing and oddly enough regardless of being able to access or not I was getting the same results which just should not have worked whatsoever (pointing to server in Germany regardless of IP, this threw me off).
Last 2 days however everything seems to work on every single globe IP range i've been assigned 203, 222, 122, etc.
Looks like something got fixed :mrgreen:

Last sunday, I couldn't access PM and true enough, the IP assigned by Globe began with 18x.xxx.....
I ran a traceroute and it went nowhere, apparently running circles within Globe's IPs. It's an assignment error within their system. Didn't bother to reboot the system since my son was busy with his downloads. :|

Naka ilang emails w/ complaints na ko sa Globe, wala paring nagaganap...

Forum speed is not due to software, but usually due to the servers. At this time, PM does not have its own server and we have a co-location agreement ongoing. Upgrading is a major undertaking which will entail cost and remember, Jim is maintaining forum costs out of his own pocket... let's give him kudos where it is due.

This may partly explain why accessibility is sometimes an issue because you may be logging in during the reset. I have my own theories about the inconsiderate use of unneeded polls causing server problems, but that is under observation, and I close down polls that have no end date.
Just to be clear, ISP accessibility (and in this case, DNS issues) is a different matter entirely, and is something beyond the control of Philmusic.

i got a deletion of my account notice today & now i tried kung accessible na ang talk@philmusic...
to my surprise, meron na!!! what happened?
it weird & annoying that i get a account deletion message after philmusic not being accessible for a long time.
now, meron na, & i'm still using my account. so mukhang hindi pa deleted. pero if they plan to, coz of inactivity, that's unfair.
this is my favorite forum site, then biglang nawala... ka-shock di ba?!

and nag clean up ako to send out delete unapproved account account that is older than 120 days
and send them an email message

those unapproved members

i believe that the ip you are using before was used to send out spam, and it was blacklisted, it takes a couple of days
before it will be removed from the blacklist

Honeypot should block just the spammer and not thousands of ip's, last week i see a counter under your site with "honeypot blocked 7779 attemts for spam................... do you really believe that you have so many members sending spam? I dont think so..................
Most people dont complain about not be able to enter i think, they just start avoiding the site or just "try some times" instead of regular visitor maybe?

yes sir... i believe the numbers (because spamming is not done by hand, its done automatically by scripts) considering that we have honeypot enable there are still some really smart spammer who have registered through the site last December, a total of 455 profiles was banned from the site...
now consider that we don't have this protection, our forum would be flooded with useless spam post
i know that having this protection there would be false positives as in you're case, please understand that if we don't protect our forum/community from spammers, there would be no reason for you to have that extra effort to ask you're ISP for ip address change, and we do appreciate that because it means that philmusic means to you, and we would like to retain what makes philmusic valuable to you and to other users as well.
we will try to explore other alternatives to spam protection, it's an endless endeavor as long as philmusic attracts user like you who contribute to the community, there will be spammer lurking around.

thanks for the heads up sir, i checked you're ip in this site https://www.projecthoneypot.org, https://www.projecthoneypot.org/ip_124.6.181.37 and it seems that it has been used for email spam messages
i think its best to have you're computer checked for any spam bot lurking around, you can do the steps below
to check and verify if there are any hidden programs connecting
start > run > type "cmd", enter > type "netstat -ano", enter
this needs to be run as an admin, and this will show you all connections in you're computer,
the last number on the column PID is process id the connection belongs to, to check what process id that is
start > run > type "cmd", enter > type "tasklist", enter
this will show you the a list of processes running and it's corresponding PID, if there are any suspicious
try to google it and see if it's a spam

No spam, i used 3 different programs to check it including Kaspersky Norton and surgemail, nothing. All the ip's of globe are simply blocked because there was an spam years ago.
Everytime i follow honeypot and whitelist my penalty time becomes longer, my former id was blocked till may just because i did follow the instructions.
After logging in again i am a spammer again even without checking my computer from their side..................
If i was the only one, ok, so be it but there are many like me who have the same problems.............

sir you can do a hack of some sort to surf philmusic.com, currently our philmusic.com static ip is 125.5.114.175
so we just need to tell our os to know this and this can be edited on windows hosts file can be found in
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
open this file on notepad
you should see something like
----------------------
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
----------------------
append this line "125.5.114.175 philmusic.com talk.philmusic.com" so that you're os already knows that philmusic.com and talk.philmusic.com maps to that address and won't need to look up to you're dns
modified content should look something like this
----------------------
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
125.5.114.175 philmusic.com talk.philmusic.com
----------------------
note: that if in the future our server moves to another provider, the ip address will change, so think of this as a temporary measure :lol:

change your DNS to DNSAdvantage:
Primary DNS: 156.154.70.1
Alternate DNS: 8.8.8.8
the Alternate(secondary) DNS is for Google. nagloloko din yun pag ina-access ko philmusic kaya nag iba ako ng DNS provider.
wag kang mag alala, walang mangyayari sa PC mo. pinalitan lang natin ang DNS. naka Globe DSL din ako at naka block yata sa DNS nila ang NGINX.

ginagawa ko F5 (refresh) lang ng F5 hindi naman ganun kahirap mga 10 siguro na pindot ng F5 tapos pag pumasok na ok na

tanong po... bakit po laging error yung first login ko. wrong password lumalabas, kahit tama nman.. tapos yung second oks naman. kaso di na gumagana yung always stay logged in/forever logged in. kaya everyday kailangan ko mag log-in ngayon..

Hmm.. is this ever since or fairly recently? nagpalit ka ba ng network provider, PC, settings etc?

mga 1 month pa lang pong ganito sir... di naman ako nag palit ng settings. tapos kahit san sa phone, pc sa bahay and mac sa office, hindi na gumagana yung always stay logged in...

I'll have our network admin look into this. Are you still having the same problems as well with the PW/login part?

wala na po yung problem sa password/login issue.. pero ayaw pa din talaga mag always stay logged in :) thanks!
