Possibly:

Not enough current to drive the videocard. Blank or garbage display. Sluggish framerates.
-or-
Overloaded system due to PSU's lack of wattage. Fried PSU, fried board.

Don't risk it. Don't try it.

Kahit 400W lang, basta BRANDED.

400W branded beats a 600W generic any day of the week. Even the lowest Hec has 30A on the 12V rail, and is at least 78% efficient.

Reputable brands of PSUs are Hec, Acbel, Coolermaster, Silverstone, Gigabyte, Enermax, OCZ, Antec, Corsair.

Kapag may 12V1 and 12V2, ibig sabihin, your PSU has two +12V rails. This was a marketing gimmick a few years back, but there isn't anything wrong with it naman. It's just that most new PSUs again use single 12V rails again with a massive current rating.

But yeah, generally, you combine the current reading on both rails.

And Gigabyte is okay. The Odins are better, but the Superb is alright for the price.

Yep, either 4-pin or 6-pin aux power from the PSU.

Matanong ko lang, how much are you getting the 8800GT for, and san mo bibilhin?

Gilmore for the cheapest prices. Kung medyo tinatamad kang dumayo, PC Express stores will do. Basta wag sa malls. Taga.

Like what Sjon014 said. Malls are have super high prices, because of their stall rents and I think premium because they're sometimes more "Reachable" than stand alone PC shops.

If you want the cheapest prices go to Gilmore. But it could be a bit of a hassle if you're far from the Gilmore area, since if the PC component that you bought breaks down with in the warranty period you will need to return the defective products and claim them there again when they get back from repairs.

i would recommend an ACbel PSU 560W it has 2 six and eight pin connectors for modern GPUs. it's worth the money. there's a very big chance that you will be using that same PSU for your next PC.

Bro, baka mahirapan ka maghanap ng 8800GT. It's been phased out. Previous-gen na yan eh.
Ang available sa stores are the 9800GT, 9800GTX, and the GTS250. Better cards, and still within the 5k budget range.

Supposedly, oo. Check out mo na rin yung GTX, GTX+ and GTS250. Dikit-dikit lang prices nian kasi they're all very similar in architecture.

hmm.. ACbel is a subcontractor for Some of the CoolerMaster PSUs, although the ones they make for CM is cheaper than their own PSU. I think they are also the makers of PSUs of Apple and IBM computers. So, I think ACbel PSUs are very reliable, the ACbel 560 is an entry level, low-cost PSU and i think the reviewers writing the articles forget that.

I have heard Great things about the Odin series of Gigabyte, but i am not sure about the Superb Series. You may also want to check the weight of the PSU, although this is not a fool-proof method of knowing if the PSU you are about to buy is of great quality it is usually a sign of better quality if the PSU you are buying is heavy, the increase in weight implies that the PSU you are holding contains high-quality and durable components. You may also want to try to peek inside the PSU itself, try to see if the workmanship inside the unit is of high quality it should not be messy (like solders are out of place or wirings are not tamed).

Sjon014 is right better buy one of the 9XXX or 2XX series of Nvidia. They're really cheap now because I believe Nvidia and ATI will be launching new cards a couple of months from now. Or, if you can wait, buy a video card as soon as they drop because of the advent of newer more powerful cards. That is, if you can wait.

Oh yeah, try to look for Palit Nvidia-based cards, they're usually cheaper than other brands using the same card. i also saw a force3D card, it's also very cheap, but i'm not sure about the reliability since i've never used one.

Yeah, good buy na yung ACBel. And I agree that one way (although not completely reliable) of determining PSU heft is... the weight.

I found this though:
http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=4337894

OCZ PSU for 2.9k bucks! I'd go for it if I were you, pero the AcBel's fine naman. Just don't go any lower. :-D

Get another 1GB stick, then sell the 512. Mura na lang naman ang RAM ngayon eh. :-D

The proccie is okay. It's less of a factor than the videocard in gaming. Just up your RAM to 2GB para solid na system mo. :-)

Recommendation lang yun ah, it will work naman with 1.5GB.

In terms of power:

1. GX2 (Has two GPU's inside. Essentially a dual-core graphics card.)
2. 9800GTX+
3. 9800GTX
4. 9800GT (Roughly equal to the 8800GT)

The bang-for-buck card today should be the 9800GTX+, but you'll find it in stores rebadged as the GTS250. You should be able to find it for a bit over 5k php, if you go shopping in Gilmore. The GX2 (and other dual-GPU cards) are exhorbitantly overpriced.
