staggs are great pero it lacks ccharacter and it doesnt open up as easy as sabians or zildjians do. pag nabasag, balik sabian ka na hahahaha

It's about the effects of the lemon and salt scrub technique on certain cymbals  :)

Check out these pics of my Sultan hi hats. I cleaned them both with soap and water, then I treated half of the cymbal with the half slice of lemon plus salt scrub cleaning technique. It revealed the true colors of the cymbals! The top hat's unlathed portion had a light brown color with black hammer marks, while the bottom hat had pink metal with brown and black hammer marks.

Interesting! And a fair warning to those who would want to try the lemon+salt, ketchup, or vinegar cleaning techniques. Save those for the fully-lathed models  :) It's also a nice experiment for those with Sultans and Turks who want an even more exotic finish for their pies  :-D If anyone can explain the science of this pink metal phenomenon, thats cool too!  8-)

banlawan mo brad, yung asido ng lemon kinakain yung metal ever so slightly kaya sya lumilinis so pag iniwan mo lalong magmamantsa dahil kinakain pa rin nya yung metal. gawin mo hugasan mo yung cymbal ng sabon at tubig, tapos banlaw. kuha ka ng kalahating lemon, isawsaw mo sa asin tapos scrub na tila ikaw ang tinitreat mo ng lemon salt spa. pagkatapos, banlaw, then huling hirit ng sabon at tubig. wipe dry with a clean towel.

best pa din talga gamitin yung legitimate na cymbal cleaners kse tested na at proven na wlang harmful chemical na pwedeng mag react sa cymbals. Madalas natin marinig yung ketchup as cleaner pero may mga nakita din akong posts na nasobrahan sa paggamit ng ketchup at nag react yung metal ng cymbal, parang nag patch yung itsura nung cymbals. Kung gusto talga ng DIY, mag research ng mabuti at alamin yung proper procedure.

Effective yung baking powder at warm water. Ganda ng result medyo nakakatamad lang talaga mag linis at minsan maganda din ang cymbals pag medyo luma na yung itsura hehehe...

ang hasel naman dito kung gagawa man lang sana sila ng sarili nilang formula sana di rin nakakatanggal ng logos. kelangan mo pa rin iwasan kaya may "halo" yung logos kasi yun yung di nalilinis ng cleaner :eek:

Oo nga pala they're known for that. tsaka Paiste diba?

bat naman kasi di na lang gumamit yung manufacturers nung tinta parang sa istanbul. wala pa akong nakikitang istanbul na walang logo. yung sakin naka limang lemon scrub at papaya soap treatment na (dont worry stop na ako satisfied na) pero yung logo solido pa rin. yung sabian ko soap and water palang umaayaw na  :eek:
