pag baba mo guadalupe station, you can either take a cab or jeep punta rockwell.....cab na lang, malapit na rin yun pagkababa mo wala pa 50p yun (kung walang traffic)

Pre may jeep dun, natatandaan ko may natugtugan kame somewhere in quadalupe tapos sinama ko ng mga kabanda ko sa rockwell, nag-jeep lang kame, anyway, that was like 6 years ago, 5 years na ko wala sa pinas eh hehehhe (mukhang hindi yata ako nakatulong ah)

Ang lupit magbuild up ng solo nito ni Scofield, napanood ko sa DVD yung concert niya sa Germany. Yung solo sa green dolphin street inumpisahan niya ng naka-upo at binanatan ng magagandang harmony na solo at unti-unti syang tumayo then pa-abstract na ng pa-abstract yung solo hanggang sa sobrang intense na nung solo Man, unbelievable, capable pala ang isang tao na maging ganun!   Syempre kakaiba din yung banda.

grabe ang areglo nila. super creative nila. wala akong masabi. i had a blast.. hanggang ngaun di pa rin ako makapaniwala na nameet ko si Sco face to face at nakakwentuhan ko. isa sya sa mga tinitingala ko sa jazz. indeed isa sya sa big three!

WOW! Suwerte nyo mga chong! november pa concert nya dito eh, meanwhile si Mike Stern muna hinihintay ko, sa october 27.

To all Jazz lovers,

I was invited by my sister (who plays the sax) to attend this concert last night. Now I am an old rocker who grew up with Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton and other rock guitarists from the early to mid 70s. I did try Dimeola, Matheny and Maclaughlin. They are  all superb guitarist but I couldn't listen to Jazz very long. So I expected to enjoy the first 15 to 20 min. of the concert and then snoozeville.

Boy was I wrong. John Scofield is totally AWESOME. I found myself truly enjoying the entire event. I clapped, I stood and shouted "More!!! More!!!". There was a hint of Blues and Rock in Scofield's playing but it came out really Jazzy. There was wee bit of fusion as well, probably his years playing with the legendary Miles Davis. Joe Lovano was smooth and the bassist and drummer was great too.

All in all an A1 concert, even for an old rocker like me

me too sir.. i love jazz.. but in my age, it seems like it doesn't fit me.. kasi kadalasan na tinutugtog ko mga rock..hirap kasi ng jazz eh..

sabi rin ng iba pang matanda ang jazz.. pero nageenjoy talaga ako..  hindi lang basta enjoy, matututo ka talaga mag isip pag jazz ang tugtugan, hindi lang basta lagay ng lagay.. kelangan pinagiisipan ng husto..much more technical than rock..

Scofield is definitely not one of those boring jazz guitarists, noon ayaw ko din sa jazz guitar eh, kasi nung una akong nakakita ng jazz guitarist inisip ang boring tumugtog nung gitarista, masyadong introvert, hindi pala ganun ang mga tunay na jazz players.
