1. c4 e5
2. d3 d5 ( d5 is not the common move here, kasi pagkain ng reyna ng itim sa pawn ng puti, white will gain many tempo sa pagatake sa queen ng itim, so nangyari naka develop ng piyesa ang puti, sa pagatake sa reyna ng itim)
3.cxd5 Qxd5
4. 4.e4 Qa5+
5.Bd2 Qb5
6.b3 Bb4
7.Nc3 Qc5
8. Qc1 ( 8. Mas ok ang Rc1 kasi aside from developing it on open file, hindi maging comfortable ang black queen)
8.. Ba5
9.Nf3 Bb6
10.Be3 Qc6
11.Be2 Nf6
12.O-O Ng4
13.Rb1 Nxe3
14.fxe3 Nd7
15.b4 (15. the immediate d4 is better, it challange black's center and open the diagonal for the white bishop)
16.d4 exd4
17.exd4 Qxc1
18.Rbxc1 c6
19.a3 a5
20.Kh1 axb4

30.e6 Ne5
31.Nd2 Nxc4
32.Nxg6 Rxc2
33.e7 Nxd2
34.Rf8+ Rxf8?? ( Terrible move by black after 34..
35.exf8=Q#

Sample variations, 34. g3 Rc1+ 35. Kg2 Rg1 # , 34.h4 Rc1+ 35.hxNc6 (hindi mo pwede kainin rook ng black dahil sa Bd5+ ng black, mate ka dun

Trust me bro, pagsinimulan mo magsolve ng chess puzzles (gaya ng pin, fork at mate problems), gagaling ka sa tactics, calculation and mababawasan mga blunders mo.

Eto lang muna comment ko, nice job no blunder from your side, your opponent blundered. But you played too passive, white has the better position until the blunder.

One of the greatest chess player off all time. Below is a dominating positional master piece by Capa.

One of the greatest chess attaker off all time. Eto game ni Tal he has a good piece sacrifice here. Parang magic mga laro ni Tal.

Ang daming blunders bro on both side, nakain mo queen nya dahil nagblunder siya, against stronger opponent hopeless na position mo pag na queenless ka tulad ng nangyari sa game mo.  Bro if you want to be a stronger player (para lagi mo matalo tatatay mo ) you should eliminate making elementary blunders in your game, you can achieve that by solving chess tactics problems.

But i like the fact that you developed your pieces in the opening. Yeah typical Fischer un unlike Petrosian (former world champion) na madaming closed position games.

For tactics problem eto magandang site. Try solving problems at chesstempo atleast 2 problems a day, malaki igagaling mo.

http://chesstempo.com/
http://www.chesstactics.org/index.php?Type=page&Action=none&From=2,3,1,1
http://www.fanpop.com/external/8249

Or try mo bilhin sa national ung  303 Tactical Chess Puzzles by Fred Wilson, sulit siya. 195 lang.

Point system has been created by chess grandmasters so that it is easier to teach beginners which position has the material advantage or if the position is equal on material.

Example 1.
White has dark bishop and light bishop , since bishop is equal to 3, then dark bishop + white bishop = 6. Now black has a rook, since rook is equal to five, white has material advantage because 6 are greater than 5.

Example 2.
White has 3 pawns, since 1 pawn is equal to one, then 3 pawns = 3.
Now black has a knight which is equal to 3, we can say that both and black has equal material.

Example 3. White has a rook which is 5 points. Black has two pawns and a bishop which is when you total is also 5 points, so the position is equal in material on both sides

Now one might ask is it better to have two pawns plus a knight or bishop against a rook? The answer is it depends on the position of the pieces on the board.

Now lets focus again on Knight vs Bishop, it is  a dog fight! The examples below will answer the questions again. In chess positional concepts there is a thing called bad bishop.

Game 1 http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1273732

After 44 moves in game 1 white has a bishop and black has a knight. Notice that white has dark square bishop, and his pawns are on the black side limiting the scope of his bishop, in chess positional concept this is called a bad bishop. Look at the knight it is very strongly placed, it is pressuring the c3 pawn. So it's clear in this position, the knight is stronger than the bishop. Brilliant positional play by Nimzowitsch (the author of one of the most popular chess strategical book of all time My System)

Game 2 http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1010126

Notice in game 2 the superiority of Knight against the bad bishop hampered by its own pawn.

Now when is a bishop stronger than a knight? Usually a bishop dominates a knight on open position.

Game 3 http://www.chessgames.com/perl/chessgame?gid=1068973
Notice in game 3 after move 37 on how Karpov's (one of the greatest chess player of all time) bishop dominates the knight. In open position like this in which the bishop has a lot of room to maneuver, it is superior against the knight. Superb endgame play by Karpov. No wonder he is a former world champion!

Eto basic lesson para sa hindi pa nakakaalam, on why a rook is stronger than a bishop or a knight.

A rook is stronger than a bishop. Look at these simple examples below to demonstrate that. I will use algebraic chess notation on explaining the moves. If you don't understand chess notation, click the links below.

http://www.logicalchess.com/hcc/scholastics/tutorials/notation.html
http://www.chesshouse.com/how_to_read_and_write_chess_notation_a/166.htm

A rook is stronger than a bishop. Consider these simple examples.

Example 1

Now count all the places the bishop on h8 can move it is 7. Now count all the places the rook on h1 can move can move, it is 14. This show the mobility and influence of a rook compare to a bishop.

Example 2

Let say it is white to move, a good move here is Rd7, since the bishop was attacked it will move away, in return the rook will eat the pawn. Clearly a rook dominates the bishop.

Another example of the power of rook compare to bishop. An endgame of a lone rook plus a king against a lone king is a win for the side with the rook cause black can be mated. But an endgame of a bishop and king against a lone king is known in chess endgame as a draw. Cause the bishop and king can't mate the lone king. Here is an example of a mate with a single rook.

Example 3

haven't been playing regularly since grade school (and briefly again 2-3 years ago nung kasali ako dapat sa chess team ng account namin sa sportsfest) but i say we keep this thread alive!

Wow! I miss playing chess. Nung elementary ako, 'di ako makapasok sa Basketball team kasi medyo maliit ako so i tried out for Chess. Nag-champion ang team namin sa intramurals. Nagkaroon pa kami ng exhibition match with the great Eugene Torre, I remember 30+ ata kaming kalaban niya from different schools. Walang nanalo sa amin. Hehe. Haven't played it in a loooonnng time.

Around 30 din ata against him ng sabay sabay
