strectching and breathing excercises :wink:..this calms you down..smile and try to chat down also on those pretty audience to relax you down :wink:

2 bese pa lang po ako nagperform..hindi pa masasabeng gig yun kasi sa skul lang eh..ahihihi..pero nung mga performance ko na yun..nag ayus ako ng buhok..lagay ng drumsticks sa ibat ibang lugar incase na mabalian or matalsikan..tpos inom ng mineral water at onting palo para maka pasok na..stretching din sa paa..ahehehe.. :lol:

Tamang-tama, I recently wrote a blog which can be related to this topic.  Here's the link --- http://anthonydio.multiply.com/journal/item/105 .

To be specific, before a gig, I do warm-ups.  I usually do singles, doubles, and flam exercises on my practice pad, or on a playable surface (when I don't have my practice pad).  I do stretchings, especially on my hands.  If there's a chance to practice on the drumkit during soundcheck or before the club gig (when there are no customers/audience yet), I do that too.  I also listen to music through my mp3 player, so that I can condition myself and get in the zone.

i'm guilty of not doing this...

try to actually play the set. For you to have a feel of the drums.
this is also the for you to make adjustments..ex. the snare stand height, pedals loose....

tamad ako mag dala gears kya i use whats availble...kya ayun minsa sablay... :|

stretching, i jog a little...but in my experience drinking before the gig(alcohol) does'nt work for me...i have low tolerance for alcohol...2nd set nlng! hehehe ayun mejo steady na!

ako kasi dati walang exercise exercise eh
chat with friends lang hanggang sa kami na yung tutugtog
pero ngayon na realize ko na important pala ang streching kahit konti
para sa flexibility at mejo relax ang muscles para magfunction ng mas mabuti

kaya ngayon i do streching na before playing  :-)

dati... 2 hrs lang..
pag bakasyon.. 6-8 hrs...
tapos pag gabi.. drum pad....
pero pag sa skul walang magawa drumpad to death...
pag sa bahay.. may pad din ako sa kick na pearl thing..
nagppractice ako ng doble pedals at minasn coordination
exerscises.. ngayon habang nagppc.. gumamalaw paa ko..
nakakunekta sa drumpad ng kick... hehe.. adik..
kasi i just realized how much i wasted. kaya bumabawi ako..
kaya habang bata... magpractice na kayo hangang may chance...

nung bago pa lang ako, mas madalang.. Kasi sa rehearsal studio lang ako nakakapalo.. Buti nagkaroon ako ng drumkit nung june last year..
buti ka pa bro harugrugrug. Kakatamad kasi practice pad eh..

mas mabilis makapagod ang gigil dahil mas great ang stress sa muscle nun..
result mas mabilis kang mapagod... at di pa malinis ang ginagawa mo e...
mas maganda relax... para di mastrain kagad muscle mo..
hehe.. pad lang talaga akko sir autoexec... minsan swelas ng sapatos..
kasi rudiments ang kelangan ntin e.. madali lang un gawin sa pad..
pag ok na.. iaaply na lang pag naupo sa set..

metronome.. is just a small device na may pihitan ng tempo...
click lang siya.. kung baga un ung magdidictate ng time sayo..
dun ka sasabay... at dapat sabay kayo....

relax lang sa practice. do not be tensed kasi the more you are pressuring yourself, the more na hindi ka matututo. Drumming should be like a flow through your body. you'll know na nag-improve ka na kung medyo fluid na yung motion mo sa mga palo mo kahit practice lang. I would recommend Dave Weckl's back to Basics video. It sure helped me a lot. Tapos tsaka ka maghanap ng Jeff Porcaro na video wahahah!!!
