Title: QUALITIES of Guitar Made in Vietnam, India, Indonasia, China, Korea.
Post by: crizer003 on February 06, 2015, 10:52:39 AM
Let's talk about quality.
We all know na mganda ang quality an US and Japan made na guitar which is mganda din ang presyo haha lolx!

Any feed back po about vietnam made na guitar?

Feed back na rin po sana sa durability ng mga MIC, MIIndo, MIIndia, MIK and sort them from good to best.

Maraming thanks :D

yung Yamaha CPX 500-II ko galing indonesia. (well according to its serial number and based on  this document officially from yamaha (http://www.yamaha.com/yamahaguitars/AcousticGuitarSerialNumberSystems.pdf)

ok naman yung quality, last may 10, 2014 ko siya binili and I think 2 years na siya naka-display sa yupangco.
as far as its durability is concerned, sobrang ingat ko kasi sa instruments so I cannot attest kung makakasurvive siya ng 'fall'.
I heard a painful sound. Buhay pa naman ung guitar itself, no damages or effect dun sa tone, pero yun ung first battle scar niya. Medyo nagchip ung headstock, (for the lack of pictures, post ko na lang later) kahit nakalagay sa soft case.

EDIT: wrong thread ka ata nagpost, this is meant for Feedback and Questions regarding the PhilMusic site itself :)

IMO, depende parin if the line is low-end, mid-end, or semihigh-end. I've tried MIC Ibanez gio models and sorry, but they're total crap. There are MIC Ibanez models (e.g. RGR520) however, that have better craftsmanship than MII models (e.g. RG420, RG350, RG320, etc). There are MII models, particularly the Ibanez Premium models that can almost compete with the Prestige line (MIJ) in terms of overall sound and construction. So I think depende parin talaga.

Just my 2 cents hehe :-D

I agree with FollowTheReaper. it depends on the Line or level of the equipment.

for another example, MIC ang CV series ng Squier but it is better than FENDER MIMs IMHO. in the same way, 62RI MIJs are better than Highway Ones or American Specials. just my 2 cents

I tried an RJ guitar na made in korea

I owned an Ibanez na made in korea

pagusapan lang natin ang quality ng parts and how the whole guitar was put together (including setup out of the box). imho, mas ok yung Ibanez. pero pareho silang made in korea nung RJ.

I think some of RJ guitars are nicely done. yung hardwares lang talaga madalas palyado.

Usually, one can expect a better crafted or built guitar as its price increases regardless of the country where it was made.

Mic ibanez artcores are bang for the buck. Go for whatever you think is best. Country of origin is just that.

In general, has the MIC, MII, MIV, MIEtc. lower brackets of the quality train improved in quality over the past 3 years? Or the top tier production ran models still reign like the MIA, MIJ, MIK, MICanada stuff? :-D

Squier has been working hard to change the perception of their product lines being "entry level", making it sound the same as "cheap production".  One of the items that have received glowing reviews is their Vintage Modified Surf Stratocaster. I remember reading a good review for this product in Guitar Player Magazine.  But these days, I really trust the guys writing in Premier Guitar Magazine all the more.  Their staff deal with more of the hardware-side of guitars than actual instrument playing.  If I have it right, most of the Squiers these days are made either in China or in Indonesia.  BTW, I also own a Squier VM Jaguar and Jazzmaster.  Those guitars are gig-worthy after a good set-up--and in the case of the Jaguar, I had my guitar guy fit a Mustang bridge on it and it's now up to my playing standards as well.

Here's a review of the VM Surf Strat:
