Bat galit ang mga banda sa CUESHE, SPONGE COLA at 6 CYCLE MIND?

oo nga mediocre na kung mediocre...

pero IMO di mo naman kailangan maging sobrang galing to play good music...

it's just that ginagawa nila yung best nila to play the music they want.

kanya kanyang trip lang yan... same goes with their fans. 

I have to admit nakikinig ako sa ilang songs nila... 

Pero yung "gwapo" factor ay kaya sila sikat.
Nakakatugtog naman sila eh.

After the label spends money on your recording, your PR and your distribution...is it not fair if you just listen to them a bit? Of course, the fine line between "listening" and "being forced to listen" differs with each band. but to just blame the record companies out of hand is just wrong, given that they are willing to sink a lot of money into your band. they just want a return - otherwise, hindi nga music business.

For some, it works, for others, it doesn't. Some don't even get told what to do, and for some, the idea of the record company saved their lives as a band. Just thinking that record companies are pure evil is simplistic. just like saying all indie bands are good and artistically satisfying.

if Cueshe or Six Cycle Mind asked me to play guitar, I would say yes.

Isang gig pa lang nila, sweldo na ng isang tao for a month. Kung out of town, nasa Php 150k range na talent fee nila. Imagine that amount of money to play just 10 songs. free beers. free everything. you get to score a lot of chicks pa. hahahaha

And besides they still make good music, tainted lang kasi yung tenga natin because everyone else says they suck doesnt mean that you will think it sucks.

Lahat tayo musikero, and as musicians we should respect fellow musicians. In one way or another we all have our influences all over our originals. So its unfair to label them na rip-offs of foreign bands because that would be hypocritical na, since we also assimilate our influences into our playing.

hmm..di nga naman lahat...mostly lang..hehe..anyway..i hear na ang pinaka api sa tatlong yan e cueshe...kc..kahit sa NU107 di mo sila piniplay..hehe..dont know how much truth is in there...but i really dont hear them sa station nga na yun...but then again, not 24/7 nakikinig ako...

a lot of reasons e...kanya kanya..but i think..it started sa stay na song especially sa cueshe part...na rip off nga daw..tpos parang nagbitaw pa sila ng salita ata na "di nga namin kilala yung silverchair e.." sumthing like that...

sa ibang bands naman..siguro..me mga tao tlgang kainis yung dating...kahit tyo me mga taong barkada mo na..parang naaangasan ka pa rin..or naiinis ka sa dating nya na ewan...cguro ganun n lng yung sa iba...

personally..sa sponge cola...yung musicality and intelligence nila sa pag gawa ng music ang di ko trip...parang basta me magawa lang na kanta na catchy yung chorus..ok na...lagyan lng ng power chords...mas ok ....and parang kasing di natural yung dating...but thats just me....

for Hale naman...dati mejo..mejo lng inis ako...but after i-nogag nila yung cueshe sa isang morning show dahil tinugtog nila yung silverchair song na pinag gayahan daw ng other band..and parang naoffend ang cueshe na bat pa daw yung ang tunugtog...mejo napaisip ako..and mejo naapreciate ko musicality nila...after all..itong latest album nila for 2008 really is cool..lalo yung track 1..."over and over again"...maganda...parang di Hale..hehe...try to listen if u can find one....

Ganun?  Of the three Spongecola is the least unappealing for me.  They have unusual song structures and dynamics, if you don't mind the (yun-yun, kaya hanggang ngayun) lyrics.  I guess dahil gitarista ako, I listen more for the instruments.  And I get a Goo Goo Dolls vibe on their english songs (sorry GGD fans).  Sana yun na lang nire-release nila.

They were all ok when they first came out.  I guess they got overplayed.  So we got irritated and looked around for harder, edgier stuff.  Too much exposure can actually kill a band, IMO.

I listened to it na on Imeem and I felt... 

medyo ok na din kaso di ko na feel... ewan. di ko maiwasang icompare sa una nilang album, when EMI thought parang 10/12 of their songs are cool.

i agree, kasi hindi pang masa yung English songs nila, lalo na yung "The Wandering" and "Myself in You"... lalo na yung "Nocturne". hindi pang masa.

no offense din  sir...pero i really dont find how u integrate goo goo dolls sa sponge cola...i cant feel the similarity...unlike urbandub to deftones....or the old dicta liscense to rage against the machine...im sorry...

im not saying naman na theyre not good musicians e...im just saying the overall songwriting and intelligence in musicality is poor...but then again..i dont listen to every song nila e so...

just to give you na lang an idea...you might want to checkout the band SPLENDER...i find them verygood in terms of arrangement, lyrics and musicality...but then again..its just me...

I personally find 6cyclemind to be the best in terms of pop songwriting, and as for Sponge Cola - very unusual lyrics and arrangement; I don't know if they want to be alternative, pop or rock. so of the three, Cueshe needs the most work, as 6CM knows their audience, and Sponge Cola is actually gifted - they just need to focus more.

Ako di naman inis sa kanila persoanlly kasi una sa lahat di ko naman sila kilala, mukha naman silang mababait pwera lang yung Cueshe an nagka-issue sa drummer na nabasa ko sa kabilang thread. Sa music naman, may mga kanta na gusto ko may mga kanta na hindi. mahirap kasing di mo marinig kanta nila kasi lagi naman pinatutugtog sa radio. Ayoko lang talaga sa boses ng vocalist ng 6CM, parang April Boy. I'm not a fan of these bands but I don't hate 'em. Wala naman silang ginawang masama sa'ken bakit ako magagalit?

Ayoko sa Cueshe dahil sa mga "rumors" that circulates around the band. (Of course I'm assuming that it's true kasi kwento to ng mga kakilala ko)

Kasi madalas naririnig ko na may attitude problems ang Cueshe, mayabang sabihin na lang natin. With that in mind, syempre galit ang iisipin mo.

Sponge naman, sa opinyon ko lang, since one of their songs got a cut for a show sa isang station na mala "pang-tv" talaga ang tunog, eh nadala na nila yung style ng song-writing for that same platform.

6 Cycle, wala naman masyadong problema. Di lang patok sa akin yung songs nila. I have a different preference, but I'm not saying I've got a better one.

Calalilly's drummer is really good though. I respect the guy for that. I don't know him personally anyway so I can't comment on anything else.

Generally, I tend to appreciate skill even if I'm not fond of a song or the artist/band that plays it.
