Re: Tama Rhythm Watch 105 or Yamaha Click Station?
« Reply #50 on: April 03, 2007, 04:20:28 PM »
How about adaptability to noise. Like maririnig mo ba sya while playing?

Also the quality of sound beats or click, napapalitan ba un?

Adaptability to noise - several factors are involved; the volume of the clicks of the metronome, the type of head/earphones that you use, and how loud the band setup is. You can lessen the outside noise by getting something like a Vic Firth isolation headphone which cuts a significant amount of decibel level, allowing you to clearly hear the clicks of the metronome.

Meron dapat several choices sa type ng click sound na gusto mo (meron yung parang "thud" na medyo bass yung dating; meron yung high-pitched click; others even have a voice counting - which for me is very annoying  :-D)

The advantage going for the Click Station is the vibrate feature. Let's say talagang maingay ang banda niyo. Switch to vibrate mode and "feel" the clicks rather than hearing them.

Incomplete info ung Tama site.

E quality wise, meaning matibay ba? Which has a better beep/click sound?

Now, Im using a triple flange ear plug, gamit to sa construction work site, hehehe. Nasa magkano kaya yung Vic Firth Isolation headphone? Kina kabit ba yun sa iba pang gadget like regular headphone? Sorry, di ko pa kc nareresearch ung VF. Later gawin ko.

Features wise, I believe mas lamang yung Click Station. Quality wise (in terms of durability), I don't know which is more durable. Quality wise (sounds), I believe mas lamang din yung Click Station.

Again, I don't know how much, but you can check sites like musiciansfriend.com to get an idea.

Thanks for the info on sound quality. Isa un sa mga factor na hanap ko,because I've heard some metronomes give you annoying beep or click.

I compared the two since I commonly see TAMA at different YouTube videos, even Jason Bittner (SP) uses that.

Keep it coming guys, If you know other brands that has the same features like this two, then give me an info. So far, mahirap humanap ng magandang review sa metronome...

Bittner will of course use it because he endorses the Tama brand. Even his pedals and hardware are all Tama.

I own the Boss DB-88, which in my opinion is better than the Tama one except for the fact that you can program only up to 8 settings (Tama has 20, yung Yamaha Click Station mga 80+ ata). Dami features like time signature division (kunwari 5/4, pwede mo i-divide into 3s and 2s), loop function (automatically switches to the next programmed setting after a certain number of bars), tuner, 3 "click sounds", etc.

i also would like to add that loud metronomes are very irritating (at least i do find them very irritating). i plug ordinary earphones to the zoom b2 and then put on kyk construction ear muffs (80 pesos at any big hardware store) over the earphones so i can set the tick volume to a minimum.

vic firth feels much better than kyk but sound isolation is the same.

wow. Salamat sir. Yun pala nakalimutan ko itanong, ano ba yung drum machine? Lagi ko nakakalimutan itanong yun, is that really comparable to metronomes?

I remember before, I say a Zoom on sale, used, but due to my ignorance in DM, i never asked the price. di ko pa na research. eto sya : Zoom RT123 Rhythm Trak Drum Machine

Sir pa advise on it features as compared sa metronome n pinost ko.

mas marami syempre features ang drum machine kesa sa pinaka magandang metronome. yung time signature changes kaya naman yun nga metronome choices mo at lalong kaya ng drum machines yun. its a "nice to have" feature but as you progress in practicing with a metronome, you'd find that you dont really need it later on.

IMO, just look for a metronome/drum machine with a tap tempo button (it will help you figure out the tempo of a beat) and a headphone jack as they are the most basic and most used features.

Salamat sir, you saved me from getting either of the two. I was thinking, because I was just looking at its features just now,I guess pwede ko aralin yung mga grooves n installed na sa kanya, right? That will give me an idea on what grooves to learn.

Personally, I find drum machines to be too bulky to be carrying around. Pero kung sa bahay or studio lang, it might be beneficial.

How much is a drum machine?
