try mo kayang kalabitin baka tumunog...

Maging solo artist! Haha! Session e dapat marunong ka sumunod kahit di mo trip yung gusto ng artist, having a band has some freedom to it I guess unless lumaki ulo ng vocalist mo at nag solo artist na,hehe

session musician ang gusto ko - you dont have to deal with band drama, you do not have to talk to band members you dont like (let the band leader handle that) and the best part? you get paid!

yun nga lang, my skills only allow me to be a band leader. i even have a hard time joining bands. one look at my pedal board and they are ready to kick me out lol

Being a session musician is a dream for me.

Session players somehow retains the love for music in the long run compared to people who sticks with a band, I don't know if its because of the associated drama with bands that will make a person hate on music making or its because of the boxed concept of being in a band (kahit gaano pa kaexperimental yung music nyo somehow you'll have to make the same type of music to stick with and be known for) unlike sessions players na sobrang broad nang playing field as long as skills permits(e.x. Nuno on Rihanna's backing band) and just play with delight without being labeled a sell-out.

1.referral

--> e.g. product endorser, clinician, product specialist, member of a great band (not necessarily mainstream)

2. network

kung madalas ka mag gig, dami ka nakakasalimuhang bands, nakikilala nila karakas mo at talent, eventually lalapitan ka ng mga yan to play or to fill in lalo na kung
pareho kayo ng pondohan.

3. ads
kung may nababasa ka sa mga social networking sites --> saying : hi guitarist here available every Thursdays and Saturdays, then nakasama yung link ng mga demo nya.

You got it right paps.. Plus you get to advertise yourself pa, in that way simpleng raket na rin eh to earn extra income in music industry.. As I always say, "Naiinggit ako sa mga musiko at atleta. Musicians play music at the same time they are earning for a living. Same as athletes lalo na NBA Players, playing and earning as well." Sarap lang.

Tama sagot ni sir Fretboard in your inquiry. Just like yung mga bands pag nag quit na yung isang member, hanap sila kapalit. In house sila ng recording studios?

so BTT:

mas ok sakin ang may sariling banda  :)

Sagot sa No. 1
Dun sila nagkakasundo, dun niya maa-apply yung playing skills niya artistically and without compromise.

^ di ba collaboration na yun? because you're doing something WITH the artist and not FOR the artist.
kasama ka naglatag ng overall outcome.

pag session kasi, meron nang pre-composed materials, tutugtugin nalang.

Yup collaboration rin. Pero di rin ba still considered as sessionist yun kung solo artist yung artist na tutugtugan? Sessionist na gumawa ng collaboration with the artist. Let's say for example sina Gary V., Kyla, and the likes. :)
