pag PURE na jazz Clean Tone lang ayus na.

pag sa mga fusion stuff kahit ano pwede.

Personal Preference ko:
Volume Pedal for swells
Overdrive and Distortion for Avant-garde shiz
Delay
Phaser

Kalyo sa hinlalaki.  That's why Wes Montgomery had that distinctive "Wes" sound as he used his thumb in lieu of a pick.

But seriously, Jazz as we know it has been generally Clean Tone.

if you want that "oompy" warm and thick jazz guitar tone, get a hollow or semi-hollow body guitar. guitar to amp, yun na!  :-)

^ mahirap i-describe. yun yung parang mabilog na tone na maririnig mo sa bawat string. mas observable sya sa mga hollow body guitars compared to solid body axes. parang ganun. may ganung tone yung Jazz box mo chai. yung tipong old school hollow jazz-box tone.

and if i may further add sa topic, if you have any guitar, use the neck pick-up for playing jazz and its likes.  8-)

Jazz is a world of 8th note, sustain is not a big factor.

for jazz - a hollowbody guitar and a good amp..solb..

for jazz fusion - proco rat, chorus and tons of delay  (for my ears)
