His guitar playing has elements of Rhythm and Blues (reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix and Curtis Mayfield), Funk (reminiscent of Jimmy Nolan and Catfish collins) and good old rock and roll! :evil: :evil:

What I liked about this guy is how he puts a lot of emotions in his riffs.. very creative in a way kahit na iniiba nya every concert yung mga riffs nya its still in place..
I have one video of them playing "Readymade" where he uses a blue Les Paul.. meron isang amoyong silang kasama dun eh.. (the one with the strat)

Has a tatto of jimi hendrix in the arm and on the other arm is his daughter's image...... anu pa ba info ko........ idol nya red hot chili nun nung 19 pa lang sya at nag audition sya sa red hot chili....... hayun..... mostly mahilig sya mag strum ng gitar pero may kakaiba sa kanya, ginagawa nya naka mute yung ibang notes pag ayaw nya patunugin imbis na wag iplay yung notes na yun kagaya ng picking style...... major influence nya ay hendrix........ 5'8 lang height nya galing to sa US.imdb.com

Very underrated as a guitarist. He puts a lot of emotion into his playing, which i really admire.

underrated even by Anthony Kiedis.. if you guys had a chance read his memoir "Scar Tissue" malalaman nyo kung paano trinato ni Anthony Kiedis si John noon.. he even admit na mali sya sa treatment nya kay John (who looks up to him) then everything changed at the start of "Californication" where Anthony gave John a vintage fender stratocaster (1969 yata) as a comeback gift.. and a big belly mustard hotdog sandwich.. (if I can remember it correctly)

Hehe yeah I saw that concert, that guy with the strat won a competition, and the prize is you get to play with the chilis.. :D hehe i love this guy, he uses his tremolo bar alot back in his early days, usually after the gig, he does a wild solo with his tremolo bar and after he plays it, he breaks the trem arm.. that's frusciante.. his riffs are so amazing, you can even dance to it! :D

Wow swerte naman nya! hehehe ako kasi eh naghihintay pa kung kailan magcoconcert ang chili dito..
With John's wild solos grabe talaga.. kumakanta nga rin eh (though mejo di ko trip kahit na ok naman voice nya.. he can stay nalang with the guitars and second voice)
I love his intro in the Slane Castle concert..

Yeah man! haha he's my greatest influence, i love his clean delay solos and those wild whammy solos.. ndi xa mascale, that's what I like about him.. he's all about skill.. sobrang nag iba ang tunog nila after ng Blood Sugar Sex Magik na album.. umalis si frusciante nun habang nasa concert sila.. ang pumalit sakanya si Arik Marshall.. Si Arik yung lumabas sa video na breaking the girl.. Kaya umalis si Frusciante, it's because of his drug use, ayaw niang matulad kay Hillel Slovak..
Tapos ang pumalit naman kay Arik after ng Blood Sugar Sex Magik na album si Dave Navarro. Humalo yung Hard Rock style niya sa Super PFUNK style ng Chilis.. although hindi naging super hit ang One Hot Minute na album Sinapawan ito ng Californication..
When John got back from his leave, he's drug free.. kaya ngaun ndi na super funk ang mga kanta nila.. hehe tumatanda na kase.. :D... Lahat ng singles nila sa Californication naging hit! :D You gotta love frusciante.. He's the man..

Saw a photo exhibit by Annie Leibovitz a few years ago that focused on rock stars. She had one photo of John Frusciante's arm. It explains a lot regarding why you never really see him wearing short sleeve shirts nowadays. There's barely any skin along the veins. That photo should be circulated for people who are thinking of sticking that needle.
Other than that, John was the reason why I also started listening to Hendrix and ultimately getting my first Fender strat.

Di kasi nya alam yung proper way ng self injection.. hehehe basta tusok lang.. ayun..
At an early age eh rockstar na kaagad sya.. di nya kinaya.. masyado silang sumikat in a short span of time.. masaya na kasi sya sa mga joints and bars lang tumutugtog then boom.. nasa stadium na sila.. thousands of fans in front, he is obliged to perform and I guess not for the fun of it na..
the touring was also (I guess) one reason he wanted out.. napagod ng sobra.. tapos yung drug problems pa nya.. ayaw pa ipasama sa kanya yung jowa nya sa tours nila.. ayun..
In Anthony Kiedis' memoir it says na ayaw na talaga tumugtog ni John sa concert nila sa japan nung 1992.. and pinilit lang sya to perform one last time.. and nagsuffer yung performance since according to Anthony eh wala sa sarili nya si John and walang pakielam.. like pag kumakanta sya eh sobrang lakas ng riffs ni John.. tapos pag solo time na eh anghina hina at pinaglalaruan pa..
Anthony said na kinausap nya si John afterwards saying: "You should have atleast gave these people worth what they paid for.." something like that..

BTW, I did see RHCP in Oklahoma City during the Californication tour. I think this was actually one of their lowest times. They phoned in their performance and didn't even play Higher Ground. Mas bilib pa ako sa Foo Fighters na front act nila sa tour na 'yon. I still stick with the band though simply because BSSM was a life-changing album for me.

Nagustuhan ko RHCP nung grade3 ako.. natripan ko ung tune na OTHERSIDE hehe, talagang pinilit ko lola ko na bilhan ako nung album na un.. tape pa nga eh.. hehehe pero ang saya saya ko nun.. pinaulit ulit ko ung Scar Tissue at Otherside.. tapos un. Si John ang inspiration ko kung baket ako nag ggtara ngaun.. talagang natripan ko ang tunog.. :D Huling huli.. hehe kaya gusto ko talaga sila mapanuod live.. Gusto kong bumili ng strat para makapag whammy ako ng todo.. hehe LP kase gamet ko kakasawa.. hehe

di ko sure kung g3 yun basta ayun yung kasama niya si john mayer at isa pang jazz player?na kwento lang naman sakin. dami naging student ni joe satriani.si slash ata nag attemp na magig student pero di ata tinanggap ni joe sat.pero di pa rin ako sure sa statement ko. :-D btw scar tissue and universally speaking are the best songs for me.

Nope. Meron yung isang photo,yung close-up ng buong braso lang niya. Makita mo yung mga track-marks. Parang tinuko ng sandamukal na ibon, halos wala nang balat.

Nga pala...isa pang naalala ko sa RHCP na concert, pinakanta si John. He ended up performing Elton John's Your Song. It's just him and his guitar. It was perhaps one of the highlights of the concert for me.

john frusciante is of the reason why nag shift ako ng tugtugan to funk, and i love what i am doing now. i really like his funky riffs, i can't help myself na mapa indak pag naririnig ko or even when i play on gigs, nagagaya ko yung indak antics nya. :-)

Ako rin.. i-select mo yung bridge pickup tapos full treble plus yung turbo-mode ng DS2 kuhang kuha mo na yung tunog ng "Around the World" hehe.. trip na trip ko yung riffs nun eh hanggang dulo.. (though nakita ko eh nagshift sya to his tele nung patapos na yung song dun sa Slane Castle Concert nila)
Isa pa is yung "Scar Tissue" though wala pa akong Holy Grail Reverb eh nakukuha ko naman sa built in reverb ng 8040 Valvestate.. astig na yung huling solo nun with a touch of tube overdrive..
Yung sa "Under the Bridge" naman eh yung neck pickup ang gamit ko.. kuhang kuha na.. thats the wonder of having a strat and admiring John Frusciante..

his music influenced me a lot
although, at present, i dont play that much funk anymore...and i gave up stratocasters...
siguro ung lasting influence na lang nya sakin is ung style nya sa pag attack ng strings, rhythm and harmonizing (lalo na on the later albums: both sa guitars and vocal parts)

Hmmm, I was comparing John's looks nung old Chilli Pepper's day nya up to now, grabe ang laki nung binago ng itchura nya. Aside from syempre tumatanda na sya malaki din sigurong factor yung issues nya about drugs. Tsk tsk tsk.
Pero he's still a great guitar player. He's one of the reasons why I'm thinking of getting a Strat again.

Fuzz. He used at one point but not together Boss FZ-3 pre-2000, Big Muff Russian, Big Muff USA, English Muff'n, Foxx Wah/Fuzz, Mosrite Fuzzrite.
And he uses stock pickups in his guitars except for the '55 maple Strat which has a Duncan Antiquity on the bridge.
I have an FZ2.. pero di ko alam kung saan ko gagamitin ito.. heheh binili ko lang since he also use a fuzz.. then I realize pag yung music ko na ang tinutugtog ko eh di ko na kailangan..

Anthony Kiedis said na before Californication eh talagang malala na yung infection ni John (due to drug abuse) and yung ngipin nya eh kailangan bunutin lahat at palitan ng bagong implants (meron na palang ganun? since akala ko naka pustiso na sya)..
Sabi pa nya wala daw pakielam si John when it comes to injecting drugs.. basta tusok lang daw ng tusok.. not even thinking of how to properly inject it..

Because of his rotting teeth. They also had to fix the jaw because he broke it somewhere. Thats why he had a beard on for most of 99-00 because he was afraid that people would see the scars.

Off The Map is the concert and I think If You Have To Ask is the song. During Me and My Friends the Foos were dropping styro balls on Chad Smith.

Both concerts rock. I watched over 50 concert videos of them and all of them are unique and amazing.
Yep.. for me there is one exception.. di ko trip masyado nung tinugtog nila yung "Give it Away" nung woodstock 94..
walang kabuhay buhay yung version ni Dave Navarro.. (o baka nabibigatan lang sya sa bumbilya sa ulot nya?) - I guess its really hard filling some shoes..

I don't try to think of them during the Dave era as RHCP. I try to think of OHM as a different band and it made me like OHM a whole lot more.

Merong isang incident na nangyari sa bahay nya tapos nung dumating yung mga pulis eh hindi kaagad sya nakilala.. nung nakilala na sya nung mga pulis sabi sa kanya akala nila Fagg0t Band sila..

BSSM is the sex. Lots of good songs and good selection too. The B-sides were great - Sikamikanico, Soul To Squeeze, the Hendrix covers (Castles Made of Sand, Little Miss Lover), Search and Destroy, the Give It Away remixes. Sobrang okay nung mga songs and the singles too. I have all their singles, some even in vinyl :-D

For the fast part at the end of the Dani solo, he doubled himself but not perfectly so it sounds fast and complicated but really one speaker is playing fast and the other is playing slower than the actual tempo.

frusciante is, for me, the best and most original guitarist of our time. Listen to his solo albums and you'll see/hear what im talking about. He writes all his songs from the heart.
there's a short film by johnny depp which features his home, and the way he lived when he quit rhcp. here's the link ...

Si Flea di masyado.. mukhang hemp lang ata.. I beleive Flea is the cleanest pepper.. hehehe si Chad Smith naman daming anak sa labas..
What I like about John's sabit is napapaganda pa lalo yung mga solos nya.. langya sasabit sya in one note but biglang babawiin nya by shifting it and turning it into one nice harmony..
yung concert nila na mohawk sila lahat (yung ending eh pinaliguan yata ng basura or what si Chad Smith) meron isang song dun (I cant remember which) eh sumabit sya a bit (I dunno kung sabit talaga or sinadya since improvised lahat ng licks nya every concert) kasi nawala sa tono.. then biglang bawi with a booming "hiyaw"..
I should get another copy of that concert (since may humiram ng copy ko and di na binalik..)
That was the OFF THE MAP Concert sir! I have one and it's the last piece that I'll have! :D

walang kabuhay buhay yung version ni Dave Navarro.. (o baka nabibigatan lang sya sa bumbilya sa ulot nya?) - I guess its really hard filling some shoes..

No problem man, I think he's the most controversial guitar player in his generation.
Before Mother's Milk album, he really played it hard because he loved to play with Flea and Chad but not Anthony, he didn't like the music. He doesn't want to be Huge like Aerosmith, they wanted to stay underground. But the Mother's Milk album became a hit, and people all over the world listened to their music which is really inspiring. For me, John Frusciante's the most inspiring guitarist. I love the way he plays live/studio. He does different riffs when doing their songs. I love that guy! hahaha

Hmm wala nga din akong bagong news ngayon sa Peppers pero I think they're still rocking shows all over the world but the Philippines. Badtrip talaga dati nung 2001 ata yun, dapat tutugtog sila dito eh. Kaso hindi sila tumuloy dahil sa terrorist threat ata, but I don't bite it. I think kaya sila hindi tumuloy kase hindi kaya ng Philippines na patugtugin sila dito, I think masyadong mataas yung talent fee, sabe nila 25Million pesos daw halaga or more than that. :D

But what are your thoughts on his latest album, his unexpected techno rap album, letur-lefr? Nagulat ako dito pero ok naman, pero namiss ko lalo yung dati nyang sound at red hot chili peppers na kasama sya.

siguro kaya di siya masyadong sikat sa karamihan eh dahil sa approach nya sa music. he's open for mistakes when playing. he just absorbs and make something out of it rather than eliminating it. that makes difference. minimal pa ang style. scar tissue riff maybe easy but not many will come with that two note per chord riff. :-D

bottom line , siyempre naman classic lahat ng mga na-contribute niya sa RHCP. :)

according dun sa article yung ES-335 tsaka 175 eh binili lang ni John kasi yun ang gamit ni Steve Howe..
I’m not sure what years the ES-175 and 335 are from. I don’t play those much; I bought them because Steve Howe played them, but they don’t really go with my style that well. I feel like Strats are an extension of me, and a Jaguar feels like the next closest thing to being an extension of me. Les Pauls and SGs seem like a further stretch. With a 175 or 335, I feel like a totally different person.

jf's name is synonymous to strats. yung guitar na ginamit niya sa studio version ng the otherside is a strat di ba? pero sa live yung alpine white na gretch ba yun ang ginagamit niya madalas. nagkaroon tuloy ako ng idea na habang walang pa akong decent na strat or tele, yung semi hollow ko muna gagamitin ko sa ilang chili peppers stuff na kino-cover ko.

One of the main reason why i picked up the guitar and play the strat. I really admire his works from chili peppers, very simple but never heard before riffs and mostly important, his emotions when playing guitar. No one played like him before. :)

bro that's a 1962 strat. so relic talaga yan. Ayon sa wiki dati (matagal-tagal na), lahat ng guitars niya are made before 1970.
Probably ngayon eh meron ng made after 1970, yung Yamaha SG. Does anyone here know what model is this? Is it a Yamaha SG2000?

Nice one! Tama naman, kung sa kamay ng collector mapupunta yung gitara, parang ampangit eh, kase ginagawang investment imbes na magamit siya for creating music. Ginawa ang magagandang gitara para sa mga musicians at enthusiasts hindi para sa mga collector at ibebenta din lang someday!!!!!

Imo, yung tone niya sa stadium arcadium tour similar sila ni Josh pag nasa Dot Hacker si Josh. Hehe in some instances lang.

Japan yung DS2 ko, actually I got it via trade from Dale (gitarakista) many years ago.. swap ko yung OD2r Turbo Overdrive ko sa kanya.. lahat na ginawa ko para magustuhan ko pero wala talaga eh.. di ko makuha yung timpla na gusto ko..
the closest tone setting na nagustuhan ko is when I paired it with the CS2 Compression Sustainer and a cheap Boston EQ thru a Marshall Valvestate 8080.. pero aside from that wala akong marinig na "kakaiba" feeling ko pare parehas kami ng tunog nung mga nakakatugtugan ko kasi masyadong "common" yung distortion nya.
I dont really remember kung nabenta ko yung DS2 or binigay ko sa pinsan ko eh.. will try to check it out.. if ever interesado ka ba for a trade?? hehehe

I read somewhere sabi ni Fru na may unique feature daw itong wah na to na nae-express yung certain notes na ginagawa nya when using it? I was able to use one of this way back from a classmate altho tukmol pa ako nun when it comes to wah pero wala akong naalalang special about it.. nung time na yun ang wah na gamit namin sa bahay is the "Morley Wah/Distortion".
Right now the closest I can compare the tone of the WH-10 is sa old Boss FW-3 Wah.. and to think that even the standard GCB-95 is better when it comes to performance and tone.. oh well maybe its just me..
any WH-10 users here? baka pwede maelaborate yung sinasabi ni Fru..

pag sinasoundtrip ko to habang nakapikit para kong naha-high! ibang klaseng level ng energy yung napapalabas ni froosh sa gitara nya. a true artist. Hindi lang sa gitara magaling, pati vocal harmonies nya anlaki ng naitulong sa sound ng chili peppers. at kung napansin nyo yung mga chords na ginagamit nya sa solo work nya at sa chili peppers, halos parepareho, pero ang malupit dun eh hindi magkakatunog! may ibang feel bawat kanta kahit ung chord pattern halos parepareho. ibang klase talaga sya!

basta ako pinaka emulated kong style ni JF is yung beat/tempo kaskasan nya.. he often says that when he plays he treats the guitars like a drums.. and his strumming to be compared on beats.. thus making his funky licks and progressions..
so kung hindi ka masyado sanay mag mute on specific notes mejo hindi maganda ang tunog..
kaya when you jam with a funk bassist kahit free for all hindi panget pakinggan.

Kakapakinig ko lang uli. Everytime na babalik doon sa verse lick na yun eh iba ang effects.
Sa 1st verse yata yung una parang clean lang, 2nd time is kapareho ng sa 2nd half ng 1st chorus.
Sa 2nd verse yung unang part kakaiba nga hehe, basta parang modulations na ang bilis ng rate. Yung 2nd time naman na bumalik eh parang may reverb, wet sa left almost dry sa right. tama ba? haha

That chord progression! Pabotiro ni JF yan! Maririnig mo sa Scar Tissue, By The Way, Tear, Dosed, Dani California, Slow Cheetah, Under The Bridge. Sa solo work nya andami din, Unreachable, Omission, Second Walk, Wednesday Song, Unchanging, Your Pussy's Glued at marami pang ibang variation. Iba-ibang key lang yung ginamit nya pero ganun parin yung effect. Ang malupit dun kaya nyang humugot ng ibatibang melody based sa chord progression na yun pero hindi magkakatunog! A very good example is The Past Recedes at I'm Around! Pareho ng chords pero they are two completely different songs! May mga kanta din sya na magkakatunog yung vocal melody BUT the feeling of the song is different! Example yung Moments Have You at Interior Two. The genius of John Frusciante!!

yeah, AFAIK the gray/green one is the version 2 WH10 na gawa na sa die-cast metal yung frame while the original vintage one is made of plastic.. the one being sold is a vintage WH10 wah (black version).. what I had tried way back was the version 2 (gray/green) pala and im quite interested on this one..
ill meet the seller tomorrow for a possible deal :wink:

Speaking of Untitled 6 and 7, I fcking love these songs. ang lakas ng emosyon, gives you a bittersweet feeling. Yung different textures and the choice of notes at time ng pag execute, mismong mismo! and love how 7 is just 6 pero sa mababang pitch. parang naging reprise yung dating. and how these type of JF songs are usually "short and sweet", that adds to the "sad but happy" feeling. Kaya palagi tong naka repeat sakin, saksak earphones, play, pikit, and let the music touch my soul. and then, you're alright again. Seriously. His music helped me get through some of the darkest periods of my life. They were my "5 minutes of escaping the world and being totally free".

A few months ago, sinubukan kong magrecord ng magrecord ng guitar tracks/songs with the goal of just producing something. Basta lang meron magawa. I've recorded a few, ito yung isa sa mga nagustuhan ko :-D I was inspired by what George Harison said in the documentary, Living in the Material World. Being the Dark Horse songwriter of The Beatles, he said something like "Just keep writing songs. Eventually you'll come up with something good!"

I read somewhere sabi ni Fru na may unique feature daw itong wah na to na nae-express yung certain notes na ginagawa nya when using it? I was able to use one of this way back from a classmate altho tukmol pa ako nun when it comes to wah pero wala akong naalalang special about it.. nung time na yun ang wah na gamit namin sa bahay is the "Morley Wah/Distortion".
Right now the closest I can compare the tone of the WH-10 is sa old Boss FW-3 Wah.. and to think that even the standard GCB-95 is better when it comes to performance and tone.. oh well maybe its just me..
any WH-10 users here? baka pwede maelaborate yung sinasabi ni Fru..
i have one sir..i believe ikaw yung nagrefer sa akin sa moncseb guitar so i owe you a big thank you ^-^ the only way to make you a believer is for you to run the wahs side by side..and thanks to sir Mon for having the patience in letting me do just that :) compared it with the gcb-95, gcb-95q, zack wylde wah..the wh-10 blew them away, only the gcb-95q comes close but still too bright for my taste..i was hoping to try (and buy,unfortunately walang stock :-( ) the jerry cantrell wah too for it has that same unique low-growl & vocal-like harmonics that is the characteristics of Ibanez wh-10.

tsk tsk! hahah... meron pa naman gitarista, bahista... sa kanila ka mag apply, tutal naman kaibigan mo yung drummer... ngaun pa lang maki bonding kana sakanila para maging close hehe
naunahan na ng mga pinsan/kaibigan sir eh hehe.. di bale mangarap na lang muna tayo na bbalik si frusciante at babalik ulit sila dito.. kahit yung tipong ugod ugod na sila.. yung pag naglikot si flea, kakalas na yung buto :D

iba talaga pag si frusciante kasama sa concert eh parang effprtless na...somehow i find josh medyo o.a. yung guitar parts nya is pwede na, yung mga solo ay hindi pa, at yung back-up vocals nya really sucks :(

^hahaha oo medyo "o.a." nga ang moves niya. well hindi rin natin alam, kasi grabe sigurong pressure ang nararamdaman niya as replacement ni frus. Naappreciate ko si josh kasi before pa ng rhcp siya, napapakinggan ko na siya. IMO mas maganda boses ni Josh kaysa kay JF. Pero when it comes sa guitars, jam, solos, funkiness, etc... there's no arguement there.
Ibang level lang talaga si JF. Parang si Kenshin si JF, si Yoshi lang si Josh. Kaya hindi rin talaga masisi si Josh haha at least "bagay" siya sa RHCP.
If I was chosen to be JF's replacement I'll be happy as hell na makakajam ko si chad, flea, and anthony, and couldn't care less kung ano sabihin ng mga tao hahaha

josh has big shoes to fill naman kasi..people will tend to look for the killer riffs and hooks na nilalatag ni fru..
i've heard josh on some frusciante tracks and i agree maganda yun boses nya.. pero sa concert medyo shaky at out of tune eh.. siguro he needs to calm down & tame yung mga OA moves nya parang dun sya napapagod eh.. nkakalimutan nya tuloy mga vocal duties nya minsan kasi ang layo nya sa mic nya haha

well buti nalang talaga di ako nanood or else mabubwisit lang talaga ako.. natutukmulan ako sa second voicing ni josh.. at alam kong he is trying to stray away from Fru's sound but since nasanay na ako sa tunog and style ni Fru hindi ko maatim yung style nya.. mejo ok yung una eh sa "cant stop" pero pagdating sa californication songs mejo naiirita na ako pakinggan..
siguro hahayaan ko nalang na mag grow sya within the peppers and dumami ang albums nila na sya na ang nagcocompose ng music to slowly establish his sound tapos lalo na pag unti unti na nilang binabawasan na tugtugin yung mga songs na si John ang tumira.. maybe by that time I will appreciate Josh na..
just like how people appreciated Fru when he started to make his own sound na away from the style of Hillel Slovak na talagang pilit nyang ginaya the first time he arrived to replace him.

The more i watch the recent live performances of chili peppers, the more i'm beginning to like josh. Magggrow pa nga talaga sya with the chili peppers. Who knows baka sa next album nila eh mas established na yung tunog nila with josh. Kind of like when you compare mothers milk and blood sugar, layo ng tunog.
Most of us kasi, hinahanap natin yun tunog ni fru kay josh eh which is really understandable kasi nga naman it's the sound we all loved. But the good thing is the chili peppers is letting josh be his own man. Maybe most of us think, "anong ginagawa mo josh?, di bagay sa kanta!", and then i thought kung tayo naiisip yun, pano pa kaya sila chad, flea, anthony na mismong kajam si josh. Mas weird siguro yung dating sa kanila. Still, they let josh do his thing, may respect and trust.

I was at the 7107 festival and have to say Josh sounded awesome. And he nailed the parts. And his stage presence is also on par with the rest of the band. I'm a huge Frusciante fan but I found Josh covered all of the important bases for the Peppers.

minsan din daw nag sosolo sya ng naka-on yung wh10 wah nya, nasa certain position lang daw..

hahaha actually tuwing tinutugtog ko ito eh yung original lead ang tinitira ko which is using a slide tsaka hall reverb.. pero yung sa slane castle nya eh hindi ko na tyinagang gayahin hahaha.. pero sa tingin ko walang chorus or reverb yun.. yung sa stanza meron konting chorus.. parang yung gamit nya give it away pero konti lang.
pero kapag hindi ko trip gumamit ng slide eh yung tube overdrive lang ng Marshall VS8040 ko ang gamit ko.. ayus na yus na hahah.. basta walang reverb, kung mapapansin mo tuyo yung tone natural sustain lang.. sobrang galing talaga ni Fru.. his tone is in his fingers talaga!

yep! oras na maging hit ang succeeding albums ng RHCP with Josh eh for sure maaapreciate ko na sya, lalo na pag may mga pumatok na ulit silang songs sa billboard charts.. yung as in wala na akong mapapagkumpara from Fru..
pero kasi hanggat jinajam nila yung mga songs from BSSM, Californication, By The Way and Stadium Arcadium eh hindi ko talaga maiwasang mag compare eh.. its in the nature na talaga siguro.
I agree. But to be honest, i don't feel like josh have the capability to deliver the goods, unless josh changes his way of delivering it. The problem IMO is his style, both Slovak and Fru is a big Hendrix fan. That's why Fru said he's a Slovak fan and thrilled to be with the Peppers. And they both brought that Hendrix tone & licks which Josh stays away from (not always, to be fair, but most of the time). Mahirap I-explain mga sir eh pero check nyo po yung link sa sig ko..may video dun na I'm sure hindi pa napapanood ng iba sa inyo. From early rhcp Slovak days to stadium arcadium..then after watching kayo na magdecide kung kaya nga ba ni josh.

wala palang reverb at chorus yung slane solo ng scar tissue? ang ganda naman ng sustain niya doon kung ganoon talaga hanep. Isa pa yung solo sa Throw Away and Parallel Universe, yung ganoong tone ang gusto ko sa isang solo hahaha.. natry niyo na?
Ilang months na rin kasi akong hindi nakakatugtog sa ideal volume ng amp nakakamiss.

ang maganda kasi sa mga rifts ni John sa mga songs na yan eh madaling gayahin or kung may part na nahihirapan ka pwede ka magsubstitute ng rift hanggat funky at nasusunod mo ang tempo swak pa rin..

dati pag nasa D, 5th string 5th fret ako tas sa B at C middle finger, pinilit ko lang gayahin yung fingering ni JF, kasi mas masarap pakinggan yung open D, kelangan lang talaga practisin yung pagmmute ng strings at may isang maiiwan na tumutunog, para pag kinaskas mo yung strings percussive yung tunog parang nananampal hehe

yung "Cant Stop" kasi may sarili akong style ng pag play nun.. kumbaga yung first verse nya gagawin ko muna yung original kung ano yung naririnig natin sa record then sa second verse hahaluan ko na ng funky rifts ko, kumbaga tulad ng ugali ni John pag live performance hindi sya nagsstick dun sa original rift nya, nilalagyan nya ng flavor at konting "emphasis".
ang the good thing about funk is you can "create your own" licks na babagay pa rin sa original rift.
basta eto lang, always remember pag walang kwenta ang bassist nyo walang kwenta tumugtog ng funk hehehe..

from bssm: under the bridge, give it away ( solos I copied at John's version at slane castle) californication: title track, scar tissue the otherside by the way:( imo these tracks are really fan and easy to play) my favorite the zephyr song, can't stop stadium arcadium: charlie,tell me baby,pinkamahirap yung snow. kinapa ko siya by strumming the possible notes and thanks to John's chord structure/shapes after copying from his other guitar works, may tama naman sa pandinig ko. mahirap lang i-play ng babad dahil mapapagod talaga ang kamay mo.

guys do you have an idea kung anong magandang software para makagawa ng drums tracks tulad nung kay JF. yung tunong kasi ng sakanya even if it's computer generated, ang ganda at detailed, minsan pinong pino pa yung drums. i tried beatcraft dati pero di ganun ka detailed yung tunog, maganda sana yung pwede mong ma-divide yung notes ng pinong pino. i hope you get what im saying. Anyone?
