Hi Lahed....

When I got this guitar years ago, the owner wanted extra cash for the pickup, which was an old DeArmond (might have a Rhythm Chief model, I forget)..... As I was still a student at that time, I could not afford to fork over the extra P3k he wanted, so I bought the guitar sans the pickup....  I am planning to have a mini-humbucker installed, I'm still saving up for either a Kent Armstrong, or maybe a Benedetto (which is going to cost me an arm and a leg :-D :-D).....

I got it on a trade for a Japanese Strat plus cash looongg ago  :-D :-D

Here's a guitar I got recently: an Epiphone Emperor Regent......   :-D :-D

This one I strung Rotosound Toptape Flatwounds....  Quite heavy (0.012s), but they play very nicely....

Interesting, Bryan....  How's the sound on the Benedetto pickup?  Also interested in the Golden Age's sound.....  Are they markedly different?

The Benedetto sounds both fuller and clearer than the stock Artcore pickups. It takes away some of the boxy tone of the smaller-body AG, which made the stock pickups sound muddy at some settings. It's very nice through my Roland Jazz 40.

The vintage Gibson bridge pickup I hardly use. It's just there because the Benedetto is gold, and I didn't want mismatched pickups. I got it for cheap anyways.  :-D

The Golden Ages are nice, and get that overwound PAF honk alright. I don't get to rock out enough to do them justice, unfortunately.

Its Korean, Phil...  Surprisingly good.....  I'm planning on a pickup upgrade though, the mini humbucker on it is okay, but it could be better tonewise.....  Acoustically, its a little plain as compared to my Epi Blackstone, which has a gorgeous acoustic tone....  But its loud enough so that you can stick a mic in front of it and go.....  The neck on the Regent also feels smaller, more modern; my Blackstone has a chunky, soft V neck.....

I wanted a jazz guitar for so long kaya nung nakita ko to sunggab agad. nothing much pero i'm satisfied with it so far. gusto ko lang upgrade hardware and this is all set.

simula na to ng hollowbody fetish. hehe.

patulong naman hanap hardware o? tailpiece and bridge sana hanap ko, then tuners ayus nako.  :-D

I actually tried this out last week when he dropped by our office. Decided against buying it, for various reasons.

Good to hear it's found a new home.

Okey sound nya. maybe some upgrades will do. di siya ganun ka-resonant pero okey naman kapag amplified. Acoustic talaga kasi siya turned to a jazz guit.

it's a rough gem. dami pde ayusin. Ü.

for the price kasi sulit na siya plus it's a world war II era guitar so i expected much flaws.. pero i was surprised to find only a few minor issues.

i guess kaya hindi siya appealing sa iba is because of the neck. it's really thick and would feel really weird if you're used to more modern necks. i love it though. heheh

patulong hanap hardware! heheh.
